Post by: Bearcat1 on January 07, 2022, 04:00:48 PM
Has anyone at all installed the Screamin Eagle 462 Power Cam into a stock 117 with a good tune?  And if so, what were the results?  Certainly somebody has...

I don't know how a SE 462 compares. I have an Andrews 462 cam in my 107 M8. 110HP at 5450rpm and 126tq at 2950rpm. Both at the rear wheel.

I had one installed on my new CVO Road Glide Limited last week. Hard to get dyno time in at the dealership. I’ll post the graph when I get it this coming week!

Here’s the Dyno sheet on my SE 462 cam installed in my brand new CVO Road Glide Ultra.
I was planning on leaving everything stock including the mufflers. Ha! Couldn’t do it.
I came from a 2017 CVO 114 with the SE 447 Torque Cam. Great setup, 98/120 on the 114.
A new 117 couldn’t match that and I didn’t want to go backwards in power. Looked at the SE Stage 3 122 kit but it didn’t come in black granite to match the cylinders. Like most people I didn’t consider the 462 cam immediately because this is a big and heavy touring bike and I wanted low end torque. My wife is always on the back as well. After seeing a couple of posts about this cam in a 117 I changed my mind. That big flat torque curve looks great! I haven’t picked it up yet but it should rip. The shop installed Krome Werks 4.5” mufflers with the DB killer performance baffles. No dip there! Stock head pipe.
I wanted a warranty friendly cam and tune to keep the warranty. I’ve seen the FM installed cams as well as others and they are impressive. More power to the guys who go that way but this setup looks like it will work for me with no worries on the road.

Getting ready to do it on my 2021 bronze armor, parts ordered. I have this cam on my RGS and really enjoy how that bike runs. Little more complicated install on my cvo since I want to reuse the bronze/copper pushrod covers. They have to take the top end off to take them off intact, I have a great tech that worked on my bikes or the past 20 years so I know it will be done right..
