No  doubt the SURCHARGE they added to every bike ranging from 600 dollars to 1000 dollars starting last August helped with their increased revenues.  Also the bike price hikes while removing content help too.  Notice, they only did the surcharged to US customers.  :o

Screw the customer, keep the share holders happy.

That's only good news for the investors. That means people buying the products are actually paying more. If the Mo Co folds tomorrow it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. They have driven out a lot of small dealers. You know, the ones where you got good customer service. I heard recently that they want dealers to go through another store remodel. To update their image. I don't have the want to even walk into a dealership anymore. They only care about the investors. They couldn't care less about the consumers. Rant over.

I'd bet Canada got the surcharge also......when (if) I get to a dealer I'll report. Was there a week ago to pick up a collar for the new puppy...they had none! About 8 used and 6 new bikes.....didn't really pay much attention.

Well at $46.5k for a CVO Street Glide (includes freight & surcharge & no Calif. emission) just made my decision easy on whether to upgrade or keep my old stuff.   Though I can afford it, I simply cannot justify the price.  Exact same scenario as when I bought my Corvette last year.  Unless HD can find enough people with money falling out of their rectum lined up to buy, I just don't see the sales forecast looking all that rosy....at these prices.  The new ones are pretty though.

All fine and dandy, except for me I'm never buying another NEW Harley-Davidson.  I prefer a used one with at least 50k on the clock previously owned by a member here.  I figure that at that age and mileage, anything that will have broken already has, and the previous owner had it all taken care of.

But to buy a NEW bike, and then watch it spend more time in the shop for quality control or design and manufacturing issues is gonna drive me to drink.  And I don't need a reason to drink.
