Which bracket to lower my Ultra
« on: June 05, 2007, 09:41:01 PM »

Guys,
I'm present running the 12" stock H-D shocks on my Ultra...
I feel the ride can be improved on without going to a higher dollar shock at this time and even when I do go to the nicer set of shocks which more then likely will be in the future but for right now I have to accept what I've presently have access to...
I have the original stock 13" as well in storage...

I like the lowered feel and look but I want to get more travel out of the rear shocks and am considering going back to the 13" standard shocks but want to lower the rear end also...
I'm looking at a couple different lowering kits that will allow the bike to lower 1" - 1.5"...
One kit will lower and keep the the stock shock angle (Makes sense)
The other will change the angle by offsetting the angle to the rear of the lower attachment point... (Might be better)

My question/delema now is which is the better lowering kit to invest in?
Which ones have you used and why...
If I was to change the angle from stock how will affect the ride/comfort?
Who make's a 1st class kit that will last a lifetime?

One more question is If I go with the 1.5" lowering kit with the 13" stock shocks will the tire rub inside the fender If should bottom out?  How will the ride be affected if I was to leave the front end at the stock height?

As Usual Thank you for your time
