'06 Autumn Haze Dilemma
« on: November 07, 2007, 07:44:45 PM »

A friend of mine (Scott) is looking into purchasing an '06 Autumn Haze CUSE that's for sale at a small dealership here in Wisconsin.

We haven't yet seen the bike in person. He's just talked to the dealerhip over the phone and seen photo's via email from  dealership.

The bike is bone stock. No downloads or slip-ons etc. No extended warranty, just the remaining factory 2 year. It has 11,500 miles on it and they're asking $28,500. They seem to be holding pretty tight to that number too.

From the photo's it's quite noticeable it has the bad paint that plagued the 06's. The dealership says they're unaware of any paint defects on the bike. ???

I've made Scott aware of some of the issues I know of with the 06's, such as paint, voltage regulator recall, Harmon Kardon stereo issues, and the heated grips.

He said if he purchases he'll buy an extended warranty.

Is there a snowballs chance in hell that he can still get the paint replaced?  :nervous:

Any other "issues" he needs to be aware of before laying down the cash?

It seems that the going price for these bikes with similar miles is more like $26,500-27,000.

Any input and suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks for your time :2vrolijk_21:

Typically, the Autumn Haze bikes had very little paint problems. Mostly the Green and Black that had problems. Everything else is minor and can be done under the warranty, and may have already been taken care of.

From what I've seen in person out and about the last few years the Autumn Haze bikes still have the defects, but it's not nearly as noticeable as the darker colors of the crimson/slate & watermelon scooters.

Hopefully all will be good :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks GC

Hey Grover, is your bud still huntin' a Haze?  I'll be glad to run up to Nashville and check out that $25K Haze for him if he'd like.

For SE Ultra,

I've been attempting to learn alittle about the Dunlop E 3's. Can't find the info probably looking in the wrong places. Is it correct to assume these are a newer version of HD Dunlops? Available in the thin white walls? I'm waiting to see more info on the HD Michelin tires which the dealers here in northern CA haven't dealt with as yet it appears. Don't think they have the thin OEM HD Ultra white wall though.

I'd appreciate any feedback about your choice for these Dunlops.

Thanks.

Woa, talk about  :jack:   :huepfenlol2:  The stock Ultra Classic white-wall is the thinnest one you'll find in the OEM Dunlops. I think it's a 1" stripe.
