Hmmm, the Vision has a more soulful engine?

Pointing the Vision out to someone else shouldn't necessarily be taken as a compliment.  How about "look at that ugly motorcycle, what the f### is it?

I think the kickstand needed a bit of grease.

I saw the Victory Vision and the Easy Riders show in Vancouver, WA last weekend and the first words that came out od my mouth was "that is one fugly bike"...I then saw the sales person just a few feet away, I figured that I wasn't the first person he overheard a negative comment about the Victory Vision that day.

I'm guessing that the Vision is Victory's effort to offer a touring model for the younger generations.  The "older" generations may not appreciate the styling, but it may turn out to be a brilliant idea in a few more years.  After all, as much as H-D would love to be able to just keep selling the same ol' same ol' without having to offer something better, the core group of loyal customers is getting old.  The younger folks are going to want different styling, better ergonomics, and definitely better quality and reliability.  If the Vision manages to deliver the quality and reliability, I won't be the least bit surprised if they start eating into H-D's market share over the next decade.

Very true, Jerry.  Competing with MOCO with a clone bike would not get Victory the market.  They are looking to the future and going after the next generation.  They won't care if us older folks think their bike is fugly...they will care if the next generation thinks so...

When it is all said and done there are icons and then there are ......well others.

If they still made the Jeep Grand Wagoneer I have tons of customers that would buy them.  Its why Porsche is Porsche, Coke is Coke, Harley is Harley.  And they will always be Number One to there many constituents.

:)   Strange thing about the "younger" generations (not all, but many); one of the rites of passage seems to be an effort to avoid whatever the older generations consider "cool" and to embrace things that the older generations consider "gross, fugly, whatever".  What's to say that the kids won't embrace the Vision styling just because it is so fugly.  Look at the popularity of that horizontal refrigerator box on wheels called a Scion XB.  Can't think of a more fugly 4 wheeled vehicle, and the kids love 'em.

I'm assuming that the Vision styling won't remain static, but will in fact evolve based on feedback from customers and potential customers.  That's the way most companies that wish to remain in business operate.

The fairing and tour pack on the Vision makes the it look like a Moped on steroids. I'm surprised it doesn't have a variable speed transmission.   :zwtf:

The Victory is one of those passing fad types. The Ultra or a very similar cousin will still be made 20 years from now. The Victory may not make 5 years. IMO
