Turn Bike on and no check engine light
« on: May 17, 2008, 10:48:51 PM »

OK here is the scoop, when I first turn on the bike and press the run button the engine check light doesn't come on. Last time I had to turn it on and off a few times before it finally came on and did it's check.
For the past few days it has been acting funny in that it was hard starting, it would keep turning over and not start, it did give a big backfire. I turned it off and back on and started right up. Happened a few times.
Any thoughts as to what may be problem and has anyone seen this before?

I really don't need another problem developing from this and want to nip it in the bud.>:(

Thanks
Tork

Tork, try doing the "WOW" test and checking the error codes. With the key off, push and hold the odometer switch and turn the key on. In the LED display it will show if there are any error codes. At least it's a place to start.
