"Chirp" Sound From My 07 SEUC
« on: September 28, 2008, 01:34:22 PM »

I can't figure it out. My 07 SEUC just started making a "chirp" sound, like a rattle, but more like a chirp. It makes the sound when I rev the engine, It also makes the sound with the bikes turned off and I drop the tour pack lid closed. I tried to hold down the lid when the bike was running, no change, I tried holding each of the saddle bags, no change. It is driving me crazy. Anyone else have this noise and found a solution?

My trip to the 105th must have worked something loose. Darn gremlins.

The rubber bushings where the mufflers attach to the saddle bag braces are famous for squeaking.
Reach down and wiggle the muffler. (usually the right side)
You can just smear some lube in there and the noise should dissapear.

Quick and easy!!

Figured it out. It was the rubber bushings holding the left side saddle bag. Figured it out when I dropped the bike off for her 0905 recall. I also showed the dealer that the heated hand grips were going out again. He could not believe it and said Harley should have never made them as factory equipment.
