New to forum + new 09 fxdfse
« on: May 22, 2010, 10:43:58 PM »

Hi all,
I got a sweet deal on a slighty used 09 w\ 515 miles and had to buy it for 22.5 K. Same bike in Canada would be 29.8 K new, 27.5 K used.
Is there that much of an issue with heat on these 110 CI SE motors ? I would like to leave the bike stock until broken in as up here in Alberta the cops are starting to enforce noise bylaws. Any exhaust mods or slips on that sound good but not too loud.

Welcome & Congrats on your new ride from "CAJUN COUNTRY" - Houma, La.

The only heat we recognize is the 100% humidity and 95 deg temps. Don't really notice the bike temp, but it dosent run hot esp. after the mods. W/o the mods, it was a scorcher to ride. Had a medium rare right calf after riding a little while. LOL

First of all, Congratulations TonyV!   I know for me...I always appreciated HDs and the community around them but never saw one that caught my eye enough to justify the pricetag.  Then MoCo rolled out the Fat Bob for '08.  Finally, I'd buy that.  Even better...a CVO model in '09 with the 110 powerplant.  I love the Black & Fire Quartz.

Like you TonyV, I really don't want to mess with the stock look (other than going with brown leather saddle and bags).  I don't want loud pipes but would like to get a little more than what the stock pipes emit.  I plan to start by having the catalytic converter removed.

Good riding to us all.

I just installed wild hogs on my SECU-BLK.  Little louder than screaming eagle but not too loud.  1.75 in baffles.

Got them brand new on Ebay...blemished.....cant tell where the blemish is......165.00    new from the factory 440.00

Yes, aapee, I did and there's a bunch of pics posted around here on at at least a few different threads.  I hope they help you if you're trying to decide on Black or Brown.

As for you Tony V, nice score on your CVO Fat Bob - Welcome!
