Looks like two people involved here, maybe a passenger ? One set of legs wearing sneakers and the other riding boots. I can't believe they drug the remains across the damn road either. What a waste of life, and he was doing 174mph that close to a curve ?

Big,

I was going to just post the information, but it really had no effect other than ohh stupid guy etc.   The other reason is I know firedude would have just been there with his obligatory where are the pics....   All in all graphic as it is, it really puts the emphasizes on how bad stuff can be and my hope is that these make it to every safety class / driver education class out there and that it may actually sink in to a few of them and make them think twice.

A lot of mixed emotions seeing these pics. Brought back memories of waking up one Sunday morning and seeing a front page picture in the paper of my cousin Billy lying in the road with a sheet over him. My Grandmother raised Billy and that picture hurt her as badly as his death. Can't help but feel sorry for this victim's family. The internet has a way of bring death to our doorstep. And yet as some of you have said, these pics should be included in Rider Safety courses to show people just how serious riding a two wheeled open vehicle can be. Like I said, lots of different emotions floating around. I guess the primary one being " chit, there's been times, that could have been me" Guess I'm glad the Buell and the SEVROD are gone and I'm more into long distance riding than breakin the sound barrier. I pegged the SEVROD more than once and I don't think there's a lot of difference between 150 and 175 except how far the pieces scatter. Sobering to be sure DC, but in the end, something we all should think about from time to time.

Have seen sites like this more times then I want to remember. Hopefully this will make one person (at a minimum) realize that yes we ride "toys" and they are fun, but they are dangerous and we need to respect them, and life. I like many of us here when I was younger/dumber thought that I was invincible and nothing could happen to me. However father-time and the sites of seen in the last 23 years of Fire/EMS have changed my perspective entirely.

My response to people when they speak and ask how I'm doing is "I woke up alive, it's a good day". If we can remember that each day is a gift, respect it, and enjoy it, then maybe we can have no regrets when it's all said and done.

Still sitting here feeling empty.

I kind of whipped through the pics.  Man, that puts some of the stuff I've done in perspective, nothing like 174mph on a scoot but over 150, I always said it would just mean things covered more ground anywhere above 100mph but not sure I needed the pictures of it.  What an eye opener though.

Imagine the passenger didn't have much say in the choice either.

Reminds me of the pictures the State Patrol safety guy showed us in driver ed back in the 60's.  It inluded a body suspended from a telephone pole foot peg.  Shock value back then, don't imagine they can show that stuff in today's politically correct school environment.

Thanks (I guess) for the wake up.

That's no doubt, the most horrible I have ever seen.  I wonder, were they chasing him?  Please advise.  Later--HUBBARD

Hubbard,

I was sent the story and each look up i have done on it only repeats exactly what was sent to me and what I have posted.   It is definately something gruesome, and I am continuing to look for more information.

Whew, I haven't seen anything that bad since Vietnam.  I don't know how law enforcement, fire fighter, EMT's and hospital emergency personel do this day in and day out.  You folks have my thanks.

Lord have Mercy! I'm feeling like Rjob, EMPTY. I was coming home the other day and this kid with his girlfriend was splitting lanes in rush hour traffic that was moving at 70mph. I was worried sick someone was going to lane change and take this kid out. All I could do is pray. Saw him wheel off an exit and wish I wasn't in my service truck. Would like to have caught him at the light and shown him some love like I would if he was my own son!!! [smiley=beatdeadhorse.gif]
I appreciate all you who have to stomach this stuff on a daily bases. God Bless You! I sure couldn't do it!

I was talking to my real Brother yesterday and he said he posted the same pics to his rice rocket thread and was told that those pics even if they're authentic are as old as the internet. He said it might be some random pics all put together.its like an urban legend type thing.Later,Q
