02 Serk wheels showing their age

Do any of you guys know if the OEM 02 serk can be chromed? Or polished? Mine are showing their age and before I put new skins on would be time to address this. Someone must have tried to clean them with something a little too aggressive, they have little swirls and some staining is starting to appear.

They can certainly be polished - they are aluminum and while they are off with no skins would be an ideal time to do that.  As far as chrome - I don't know if you can or not.  I have no experience with chroming things.

You can get them chromed or polished, depends on what you want to spend.  Some of the bigger chrome shops have an exchange program to get you up and going quicker, I always prefer to get my own parts back.  New tires and your set to roll.

If I have them polished, should they be sealed with something?
If chromed, would the "rivets" be a problem? They look like fatboy wheels that have been polished, and coated perhaps.

I thought about buying a set of the chromed/polished wagon wheels from one of the companies on ebay, what are the advantages/disadvantages of the two processes? Chromed vs polished?

I really doubt that the exchange is a workable idea, not a lot of these rims out there on the market.
I've never had anything chromed or polished, this is a whole new thing to me, any suggestions would be appreciated.
