09 SERG & 11SESG rear shocks, interchangeable??

I'm wondering if I could switch the rear shock from my 09 SERG to my wife's 11 SESG.  The reason you ask.  I would like to get the Krypto about 1" lower.  I took seats off and measure from the frame and my bike sits about an inch lower.  So I'm wondering if I switch the shocks then I would get that result.  Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.  Let's Roll
