Title: 09 SERG trailer hitch
Post by: Yellow09SERG on April 23, 2014, 10:46:52 AM
Is anyone running a hitch on their glide? Been looking at the Bushtec V3 hidden hitch for mine. What other options are out there? Is any of our venders here dealers for Bushtec or are they a direct order company only?

I posted this in General CVO, but this is probably a better place. Is anyone using a hidden hitch on their bike? If so what are you using? I have been looking at the Bushtec Ver 3 for my bike and was wondering if it was being used and thoughts on it.

I don't have a Bushtec trailer but I have their hitch and very happy mostly they have the best wiring pig tail in the business IMO. Mine is an 07 but is the hidden one and I have had others over the years.

Thank you. I just bought a Aluma trailer from a buddy and the Bushtec seems to be the only hidden hitch out there. From what I can read on there sight their light pigtail keeps the trailer circuit separate from the bikes and only uses the bike as a signal for their controller??? Did I read that right. Did you buy straight from Bushtec or did you have to go through a dealer?

I have the Bushtec hidden hitch and it fit perfectly, would not consider anything else for pulling a trailer.

I have a Bushtec hitch I took off my Yellow 2009 FLTRSE3.  Was thinking of selling it.  Only pulled with once.  Just never used it.  Anyone interested?

I bought directly from Bushtec, however after a few years my trailer lights did not work one day and figured out the gray box relay or whatever it is went bad so cut it out and wired straight now works fine but turn signals are kind of fast so might have to get another and put back in.

Horrid I sent you a PM on hitch.

Rooster, thank you, I was wondering how well their relay held up

I know this is old....

MCHitch.com I believe IMHO is the best.  Its not hidden but provides a very stable hitch.  Better than the hidden.  I am pulling a 2005 Bushtec Roadstar behinde a FLTRSEI2 (2001)

I think from what I can remember Florida Heat Wave has a hitch on his '09 SERG.  At least that's how I remember it from the Pre-NMITM in Eureka Springs in May.

Give him PM and I'm sure he'll share what he's done and what he pulls.

Good luck.
