I always take the lowers off as soon as I get a new bike.  Don't like the looks of the bike with the lowers - Just my opinion (I guess the lowers are too "FD" for me).  In the summertime the bike runs much cooler and I am much cooler too.  Tried to ride with lowers before.... Oklahoma summers are way too hot.

I have a set of the vinyl snap-on HD lowers.  If it is really cold or if I am riding on wet roads I can snap them on in just a few minutes and when conditions improve, I can snap them off and store them in a saddlebag  :2vrolijk_21:

That`s really a good idea , and at these vinyl-lowers is a notice at the catalog :
" Should not be used when air temperature is above 50 degrees. "

I think thed same should be important for the lower-fairings

The lowers and the extra weight of the SEUC's, are supposedly why the SEUC's are the only CVO's receiving new heads in the PE campaign. They say the make more heat than the other CVO's. It's a buncha BS IMO, since poor valve guide design is on all of the earlier 110's. But they're not gonna tell you to take em off of their most expensive bike, that you just spent $1200 extra for the lowers. They give ya plastic heat shields instead now!!! :D ::)

Marketing is by no means to be mistaken for engineering!!! ;)

Interesting. Do they say that in the CVO SEUC Manuals too. If so, there should be no discussion necessary on lowers and heat. ;)
