This may be a stupid question but, here goes.....While installing the caps on my lower fairings (first lowers I ever installed on a RG) I found that the top screw is a PITA to get a screw driver tip inserted and rotated; What have any of you done to help this condition? I thought maybe a small hex head screw/washer would speed things up and make assembly/disassembly quicker but thought I would just take my time and live with it for now. I ended up using a Phillips screw driver bit with a 1/4" wrench to tighten it up.

Get yourself a right angled screw driver. Something like this. Sears sells them cheap.

I've looked in the HD P&A catalog and cannot find lowers listed anywhere.

Where are they listed for sale painted to match, albeit just the main bike color, as in Electric Orange for my SERG?

I also remember reading somewhere there are ones with vents but you either need the new fairing brackets or just simply trim off an inch or so from the top inside.

Can someone direct me to these please?

Thanks.

Vivid black is the color for the Bl/Or SERGs. One of the few stock $$ breaks we get as opposed to the other colors.

Here's the link...

Thanks Jason and Screamin

What is that I read further back about vents are now available?  I would have to have vents.  If they are "aftermarket" and need to be cut in, I have no problem with that.

I see that there may also be speaker pods available, "LarryB", maybe?

It says that the glove boxes are available separately.  Are they listed in the online HD P&A touring section?

I think I'm going to get a set this fall or winter.  They do make the SERG's look just that much better, IMHO...

Thanks again guys for the link and information.

You've got a couple of choices Dan;

1 - go w/ the "stock" set up for your year and either leave them be or install the h.d. glove boxes/speaker pods and cut in Hoppe vents or not.
2 - go w/ the newer h.d. vented lowers. this requires the newer mounting brackets as well as the "internal" fairing mount
3 - there are several speaker pods out there that will work w/ the lowers.
I think HDBrad did the new mounting brackets w/ vented lowers and it's described in a thread somewhere in here. Larry B. can dial you into the Hoppe set up, again described in a thread here and he as well as couple of others can assist you w/ the speaker pods.

Note, if you're considering the Heavy Breather there are two different ones. The longer of the two will not fit w/ the glove boxes.

BTW/FWIW I've got the "stock" lowers w/o vents (yet). I agree w/ you on the looks. I removed mine this past summer because of the heat and just reinstalled them for the cooler weather. Easy to do but I'm guessing Santa is going to bring me some Hoppe vents.
