Title: Langlitz Leather jacket
Post by: SDCVO on December 19, 2017, 12:13:46 AM
Actually heard about these guys years ago on the site which piqued my curiosity and got me started. After researching found that they are world class customer service place making custom to order world class leather products. Had them make me a pair of goat leather pants to go over my jeans to wear in place of chaps a few years ago which I absolutely love and even though IO have beat the crap out of them for a few years now they are still perfect. I finally broke down a few months ago and ordered a jacket and they sent me pics a couple of days ago thats its done and on its way. I went with black goat, dark blue stitching and liner with red leather pocket lining which only I will see (matches my bike..).
Definitely one of these deals where some people will love the looks of it and some will hate it but as far a motorcycle jackets go its hard to beat their quality and durability. If you go on ebay you see some of their jackets that are 40-60 years old (and going for absolute insane money..).
I am excited about getting it Wednesday and wanted to share!

I've commented on Langlitz on other threads here and at some point, I would love to have one, too.  It looks great and I"m looking forward to the review from ya, sir.  I hope it's as comfortable and long-lasting as it looks and others have experienced.

Best riding leathers you'll find anywhere and they last forever... Good for you! I have a pair of their overpants and jacket in black goatskin but they are kind of large on me these days.

Back in 1991 I wanted custom tailored leathers. My decision came down to either Langlitz or Bates. Bates won out only because they were closer to me, and I could go in and get measured for a tailored fitting.

Good quality tailor made leather is expensive, but like any investment it is worth it. Since 1991 I have had seven motorcycles, but only two leather jackets, and one pair of chaps. They are all Bates.

Langlitz is top quality, you will love it.

Jacket came in today (like a kid on Xmas when I saw the box) and it really is incredible! the feel of the goatskin is crazy and to say it fits like a glove is a understatement which is great considering they kicked back my measurements 3 times since they knew with their experience something was not perfect with what my buddy and I were coming up with. I will say by the time we were done after the 3rd time I was calling him honey since he was touching me in places with the measuring tape that haven't been touched since college..
Looking forward to start breaking it in this weekend!

I waited for years as for a long time they were almost 2 years out for a custom fit. In 2002 I finally got mine. The extra for the goat was well worth it as no break in soft from the beginning. The shop is fairly close for me and you wouldn't think as it is a tiny little shop but that is the way they like it. My leathers are still like new and will last me my lifetime. They are a bit spendy but well worth it.

I will look forward to it, would love to ride with you! Langlitz is up in Portland. Everything was done with a sheet they sent me with instructions and over the phone with my buddy taking the measurements (a whole bunch of them..)

They are in a small yellow building 24th and Division. They have also made the leathers for the Portland motor cops for years. When they custom make for you they put your name in the inside pocket with a number. Stolen jackets come in once in awhile someone is trying to sell and they just keep them. If it is a custom they will contact you. In Wa and Ore you never leave one hanging on your chair cause thieves know the value.
