Okay guys, I know my bullet headlight was a complete failure with you guys so please disregard the fact that it's still installed on the bike, and tell me what you think of the Carlini 'Bag Drags' on this bike?? I think these bars complement the bike perfectly with little modification.
The front brake line will need to be lengthened about 2", but other than that, the installation went flawlessly. :coolblue:
Here are few pictures:

the Carlini's look good on the breakout. From the side, the headlight you installed looks good, too. It's just the comments from the others concerning the "gap". More than how they looks, how to the bars feel compared to stock?
-
Hi What is the model # on the pipes you have on the bike and do they fit good. thanks

I'm extremely pleased with everything about the bars. The rise and pull back dimensions are both nearly identical to the OEM bars, so they feel great with just a couple degrees of additional grip angle. Also, once I have a longer brake line made the bars can be turned up a bit more, but I think I like them at the current angle to keep the low profile drag look.
I'll be re-installing the OEM headlight tomorrow and I will take some pictures from the front as well.

The pipes are the correct model # for the Breakout and the fitment is perfect.

Like the look of the bars. Compliments the tank graphics. Mod on & remember it's YOUR bike. What we say don't mean sh**.
-
The bars look great :2vrolijk_21:
Not a big fan of the headlight! sorry!
-
I think all your mods look good. But I would put the passenger pillion back on, just doesn't look right to me without it-don't like the exposed bolts.

It's a bold change and I think they look sharp. Find your own look...it's all about trial and error...that's part of the fun!
Mod on...

The Carlini bars look real cool, and i can see where you was heading with that light, when viewed side on but when it's head on ''Oh dear'

This is my solution to the hardware sticking out .I made new nuts and anodized them black.

I like the look of those bars. How do they affect your seating position while riding?

Thanks everyone for the feedback! :coolblue:

I actually got to ride the bike for the first time today after the installation and I was very pleased with the over all ergonomics of the bars. They make the bike more comfortable to ride and seem to be a little easier to navigate around in traffic, however a little of that could be due to the fact that I dropped it a couple of inches as well... :-\
-
I like the bars Snyd , Looks cool :coolblue:
-
Yep, those bars look cool- gives a nice profile.
-
I think the bars look great. It gives the bike that sleek, powerful, ready to cruise the open road look. I can tell you that I don't care for the apehangers that were put on the Aussie's Breakout in another thread...... :coolblue:

Here are few updated pictures from the front with old headlight back, and one showing the seating position.

Looks great! Time to remove the reflecters!
-
I see you have added the PY Power Mirrors. I have them on my SESG. I love the way they look but the functionality is less than desireable. How do you like them?

I keep forgetting to remove those... :)

I've had this same set of mirrors for 10 years now, mounted on my last three bikes and I love them.

Ha'ha!! Yes, the heat gun will be out tonight, but I'm not sure how to handle a mod that doesn't cost me money... :o
-
Horses for courses and all that but I liked the other Headlight and solo set up. Them bars are made for the bike. Neat as..
-
Love the bars but the the mod that turns me a little green is the 120r :vrolijk_10:

+1 on the 120r. The 110 has enough power to satisfy me for a long time to come, but more cubic inches is always welcome...

Question about the bars. I'm currently leaning forward with the stock bars. Are these bars closer? I'm guessing that I'll need the bars a couple of inches closer and a couple of inches taller for a comfortable hand position. These bars appear to do just that, just asking your opinion.

These bars are angled in more than the OEM bars, bringing them closer to your seating position, and you can rotate them up quite a bit to get a little more height if desired.
I'm 5'9" and as you can see from my picture above, I'm sitting straight up and not hardly reaching out at all.
-
I think these will work just fine. Can I get a part number, size or model name so I'm looking at the same thing when I order?

You can call Carlini Design direct: 714-432-9000 and ask for Rex, just tell him that you want the 1.50" Bag Drags. Also, these bars step down for 1" risers so you'll have to order a riser adapter P/N: WO806 from 'Wild 1 Chubby Handlebars' Here is the link: www.wild1inc.com/accessories.html#adapters (http://www.wild1inc.com/accessories.html#adapters)
Hope this helps! :coolblue:

Hi i have a question about the bars, do the standard control cables fit ?.

Hi i have a question about the bars, do the standard control cables fit ?.
The controls do fit and these bars are designed for the 'drive-by-wire', however the clamps will need to be changed out due to the step down on the OEM bars, and you will have to extend the brake line a few inches. I haven't looked into new clamps yet, so I'm dealing with the gap this week.
Actually no one will even notice the clamp issue, unless I point it out...
-
Hi JL, nice ride. Question about the risers - are those the stock risers that came with your CVO, or did you replace those when you went with the bars?
-

You can't change the riser without reworking the whole electrical system and relocating the speedo/tach combo, and that was the whole reason for picking this particular bar. I'm not a fan of risers and I would much rather had put a set of clean sweeps on this bike... :)

Hey Snyd
have you lengthened the brake line yet to raise the bars a little ?
Or are you going to leave them low and sleek ?
Nice job mate - Every time I look at your bike I like the bars more :coolblue:

Thanks!!
One of my bango fittings was the wrong size and I haven't ordered another one yet, but I think I'll keep the bars in the current location~ :coolblue:

Snyd I think you said there was a small gap each side of clamp?
Or did the Carlinis just bolt straight on?
If not have you covered the gap somehow?
Cheers mate

Dave, I completely forgot about this issue until you brought it up! The bars fit fine with only the addition of the longer brake line and the only way to resolve the controls clamp is by replacing the controls, but for now it's not that big of an deal with me. I can snap a picture of the problem this afternoon if you would like to see it?

Must have the passenger pillion off so that beautiful wide fender can be seen. I had the stock bolts powder coated...looks much improved.

That would be great Snyd . No rush . Thanks big fella :2vrolijk_21:

Can't wait till my pipes show up! Hard candy EYE candy!!

Love the look of those Carlini's on your bike......but a quick question to you Breakout guys.....
On my CVO Street Glide, there is a flap built into the back of the rider's seat that is folded in to allow the passenger pillion to attach to the mounting studs. Once you remove the pillion, all you gotta do to hide the studs is reach in and pull that flap out over the studs.....most people didn't even realize the seat has this feature for months after purchase.......Do your seats not have the same flap??
-
No flap, just ugly studs. Poor design by HD to make a good looking solo seat.
I'm waiting for Corbin to come out with their solo with passenger pillion later this summer.

Definitely thinking about the Carlini bars. IMO apes just don't look right on the BO. To each his own.
-
they are comfortable to ride ,not hunched over like a dog ffff a football. Way better look than the stockers
