Ghost Rider, awsome pictures. Congrats on the new ride. Believe it or not, I am heading to pick my SERK today. I was actually on the phone working out a few last details when you posted your pics. Getting the Razor Red myself so I look at you pics being posted at the same time as a sign from the gods. I see you have a diff. windshield. I will be doing the same. grifman - good luck with your new scooter. I know you will love it as much as I love mine. The full size windshield is a must (the fairing on my ultra spoiled me). I am sure you will also find that a new exhaust system will be neccessary. This is the quietest harley I have ever heard.

hoist - You have my sympathy on the wait. Mine was 12 weeks getting here, and it was very painful!

d00d - I knew you would take care of me. You should teach a class on photo resizing for all of us newbies.

Ghost, you are 100% correct on the windshield and exhaust. Since I still have the 06 FLHRI I am going to borrow the windshield until I can order one. I like the flame one you have, goes good with the bike. As for the exahust, I will try and hang back and see what my options after a couple of months. Only put about 60 miles on it coming back from the dealer but it was the best 60 miles I have rode in a long time (even if it was a bit chilly). Please keep us up on all the OCD I know you will be doing.

I found out my red SERK shipped today. I should have it the week after Thanksgiving. I have rinehart true duals on backorder, hopefully they will get here soon as well. Great pics I can hardly wait!!!

this is Harleyteam. my pc is being repaired so I'm using the wifes. CONGRATS on the new rides. mine shipped yesterday. York is only 5 hours from here, but the dealer said they are usually last on the delivery list, cause when the truck is empty, it picks up tires at the local Dunlop plant to take back with them. I figure it should be here tomorrow at the latest. I'm sure the driver wants to get home for turkeyday. GOTTA LOVE THE RED.. RED BIKES RULE!!!! [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Please let me know how the rineharts work out for you. I plan on doing new exhaust in the spring and your feedback about the rineharts could help me decide what system to go with.

I'll let you know how the rineharts help performance, sound, and heat. I'm dying here in Nebraska, it's going to be in the 60's the rest of the week and the new bike probably won't get here until next week. We better have some more of this weather soon!!!

I could use a part number. not too many people available at the factory today to answer my dealers questions. so I'm picking it up fri. without the pack. will post picks after I get my own PC back. I had the dealer check with the factory to confirm that Part No. 53988-07; Touring Detachable Docking Hardware Kit for '07 FLHRSE3 for Detachable 2-up Tour-Pak Rack; $54.95 List; is right. I bought it for the detachable 2-up luggage rack I already have. It's supposed to work for that also. Hope this helps. Ride safe and Happy Holiday. Hoist!

I was told that my two-up luggage rack would work with that kit. The rack is the same mounting as detachable 2-up tour-pak rack. The PN's in the catalog seem to support this as well; p.422. Hoist!

thats the kit they used,, the side brackets fit fine, but the top piece that docks the pack to it is to narrow. the 07 serk has a wider fender and tire, and it just didn't fit. have to wait till monday when the right people are back at the factory I guess. thanks for the help though.

OK, I'm really confused now. I also want to fit the two-up luggage rack and my dealer in the UK assured me that the rear fender was the same width as the RK Custom. I was concerned that the rack part# description didn't mention the SERK, but assuming the dealer was correct, I would have bought docking kit #53804-06 as shown in the fitment matrix. As well as the rack I was also going to fit a taller sissybar, but if the fender is wider, part# 52933-97B probably won't fit either. I guess it is possible that the docking kit for the luggage rack could be manufactured with an "inboard" kink so the luggage rack would fit. Has anyone noticed if the SERK rear fender part# is shared with another in the RK family. Help required before my visit to the US on the spending spree.

I traded in a 05 Roadking custom for the 07 serk. both bikes in the shop,,, you could see the difference. the serk is definatly wider. I'll know more on monday when the full Harley staff is back at factory from the holiday. and my dealer can get some answers. I might even have my own pc back by then and can post some pics.

The fender on the '07 SERK is definately wider. The docking kit PN53988-07 is definately for an '07 SERK. Catalog say it's for the detachable tour-pak rack. I was told that it's for the 2-up luggage rack as well. RFB says that the rack mounts to the docking kit ok but doesn't mount to the tour-pak. Am I getting this right? You might have to use the new leather tour-pak that matches the '07 SERK, PN 53057-07, but I don't know why that would matter. I matched my old 2-up luggage rack, PN53743-97, to the new SERK at the dealer and it definately clears the new, wider fender. I'm assuming that the new docking kit now accounts for the wider fender with less spacers in it, but still lines up with the width of the luggage rack mounting points. The luggage rack should fit since no tour-pak will be mounted on it. I'm not sure why the tour-pak won't mount to the detachable luggage rack as stated in the catalog. RFB, please keep us posted on what the dealer did to fix this. Hoist!

The triangle shaped sections of the docking kit go through the holes left when you remove those ugly black things you're referring to.

I know what the ugly black things are for. What I am wondering is whether the docking kit comes with rubber grommets to replace them when the docking kit is installed. The Street Glide comes with similar filler strips. The radio antenna passes through the left side filler strip. The hole in the filler strip has a rubber grommet that goes around the edge of the hole so you are not looking at a bare plastic hole. I am curious about whether a grommet like that goes around the edge of the hole when the docking kit is installed.

was just at dealer. no grommets (you could cut center out of plugs and use them) I opted not to. they made the mounting bracket work. they removed the catches from the inside of the bracket and put them on the outside. they are mounting tourpack right now.I'm going back at 1pm to pick her up. outside temp should be at least 50 by then. will post pics asap. My new 07 Razor Red SERK arrived at the dealership today!!! Everything is in except the Rinehart duals. I should be able to pick it up on Monday (40's and rain forcasted) later in the week 20's and snow. Oh well at least it's hear and no longer just a dream. I helped the dealer take it out of the box this afternoon. I'll have info on the tour pack rack for those that are interested next week.

Has anyone put the relocation kit for the turn signals on without the running lights? If so please post pics if you have them. Thanks!!!

Dye my hair blonde, I just noticed the frames are paint matched again. 3 years of black frames and now they're back. Cool. Haven't see a pic in which I can tell if they stitched flames into the seat to match the top of the saddlebags. Did they ?

There are flames on the seat but they are not stiched. They are embossed or something.....I think it looks great and can't wait to pick mine up on Monday.

Hoist,, yes its the 07 docking kit. the tour-pak mount fit the tour-pak just fine. the problem was the detach mount. too narrow to fit docking kit. they moved the black detach clips from the inside of mountbracket, to outside. I put some pics in the thread "Red Bikes Rule"
