« on: August 16, 2007, 01:20:20 PM »

hello out there ,from the great white north.bought my 07 ultra cvo about a month and a half ago ,then i found this site.thought some you guys were maybe to picky. but after rideing my ultra and puting 5k on it ,i am begining to realize your not all nuts, unfortunatly.  luv the bike ,great power and torque! handles great! makes me think my old road king had a problem? looks great!great fuel economy!.........but the downside......harley ought to be downright asshamed at the transmission!!!!  noisy isnt the word!! and the gear spread is off too. looks like i got a rear head gasket going also, black schmoo starting below exhaust port ,at gasket. ...next.... noisey lifter, sounds like frt exh when hot. oh dont forget the pinging when hot! and the broken upper motor mount bolt!  like i said.. luv the bike but really...harley should be asshamed!!!    now im done venting, has anyone tried the vance &hines  fuel-pak? or the s%s oval slippons?  does the redline oil in the trans work? tried 75-140 syn ,did nothing. anyways thanks for your pattients and have a good one!!

hotrod.......just wanted to welcome you to the forum.

Seems like each year has gone through it's rash of issues.  With a little luck and the good fortune of this site.......stick around and you'll learn how to weed through most of those issues in short order.

Hotrod,

Welcome to the site.  Sorry to hear about the issues your are having with your 07.  Warranty and a good dealer should take care of all of it.
Best of Luck to you.

Welcome aboard hotrod! Well, some of us are nuts, but we're not crazy. These things are real, and you found the right spot to find answers. The Redline Shockproof Heavy helps. It's about as good as it gets. You're not getting rid of that 5th gear whine though. Makes it better, and it shifts much smoother. I like it. I used the S&S SPO's from the day I got the bike. I love those mufflers. Perfect sound. I needed a bigger exhaust system, and it bummed me out to remove them for the 2>1 D&D Fatcats. I did a lot of work to get rid of all the things you bring up and more. Depending how much you're into the bike, will determine how you're going to deal with it. Good luck with your bike and enjoy the site! :2vrolijk_21:

Welcome to the site! Hope you get your issues resolved on the new scooter. It's a damn shame to see this on what is supposedly is a 'hand-built-custom' bike! Just think what the run of the mill non-CVO owners must be saying :nixweiss:
