We all got checked in and unloaded, then walked over to the rodeo grounds (two short blocks) where the event was already under way.

It was a fund raiser for the Clovis to build a new volunteer animal shelter.  And since it was about the critters.......the Clovis Police Dept. put on a demonstration with a couple of their police K9s.

They asked for a volunteer from the audiance but didn't get any takers.  Interesting how they use the biggest, most buffed officer to be the guy to climb in the padded suit....guinnea pig. :huepfenlol2:

They did a number of demonstrations......removing the suspect from the vehicle, attacking the suspect while the officer is out of site behind a car, etc. etc.

This dog here looked the friendliest going in to it.  But once he was on stage, this dog looked deadly scarry.  He was/is also about twice as fast as the shepard and could leap ten feet from a run, to get his victim.  It was clear that while we don't want any of these dogs chasing us, this is the very last dog that you want chasing you.  Look in his eyes...... :nervous:

I tried to get a shot of him in the air, as he leaped.....he was just way to fast.  Maybe somebody else got one of the live shots.
