Trip of a lifetime
« on: July 07, 2012, 12:40:03 PM »

My wife and I just finished a trip from our home in SE Wisconsin to downtown Chicago to Santa Monica California via Rt 66,up US1 to Monterey,Ca. Then on to Sacramento,Carson City,NV Hiway 50 thru Nevada,Utah, thru Denver, across Nebraska on Hiway 30,then thru Iowa and home.We started using the Mad Maps Rt 66 maps that came on our Zumo Garmins but found them lacking in accuracy. We were advised to get a new download from http://shop.spotitout.com/products/route66-r2g-garmin   It downloaded in 10 minutes, cost only $25.00 and was the best purchase we made on the whole trip. We never got lost,it pointed out points of interest and was perfect turn by turn directions for "old 66'.Anyone thinking of doing Rt 66 should have the program!!It made a great trip better and was the perfect guide for two Rt 66 rookies.  P.S. The trip took 26 1/2 days and 5509 miles
