Adjusting Ohlins
« on: May 13, 2015, 05:37:29 AM »

A friend of mine totaled his bike and gave me a pair of new Ohlins that he was going to put on it.  They are the 159s, which I believe are the middle of the road.  We are pretty close to the same weight, so I am assuming that the spring is the same.  I put them on my bike and checked the sag.  It appeared to be where it should be, but I have to be honest, it was pretty hard for me to measure.  The ride seemed a bit stiff for me, so I backed off the rebound dampening a bit (counter clockwise).  Still a little stiff.  I want to check the sag again.  What is the best and most accurate way to do this, especially without help?  Thanks.

Turning it inward stiffens, or slows, the damping, while turning it outward speeds up, or softens, the damping.
