With the wet climate here, Dunlops=Teflon. On my Sporty & Fatboy I swapped out the OEM for Avon Venoms; they were perfect for those bikes, inspiring confidence with cornering & raised surfaces in the wet. However, I now have a 2006 SE-UC. It was running on Dunlops for the first 7wks of my ownership, but dropped it down to my local Indy mechanic (who has always worked on my bikes) for a set of Venoms. The bike suddenly started handling like *hit!! - speed wobbles over 60mph & starting to tank-slap
by 75mph (on the straight!!). I took it back to him the following day; he rebalanced the wheels...better, but still worrying at anything over 65mph. The Dunlops let me cruise along rock solid at 90mph (in the dry) without a hint of a wobble. Anyone experienced this before??
[mechanic says he will order a new set of tyres for me if I want to try another set of Avons - not sure if its worth trying!]
