Hard to realize it was 59 years ago today that JFK was assassinated.  Us old farts will recall where they were that day.  Me I was at college on the parade field during my Air Force ROTC period.  RIP.  We hardly knew 'ya.

GregKhougaz:
Had the news on this morning and noticed the lack of acknowledgment of this anniversary.

Ironhorse:
I was standing at the base of the steps outside our home when I heard the news.

Twolanerider:
I was 2 1/2 when Diem and Kennedy's assassinations occurred in short order..  First significant political memory was dad driving out in the mountains above Los Angeles and seeing Watts burn in 1965.  Then Apollo 1 and Tet (neighborhood kid's older brother was KIA).  Cities burning.  Kent State.  RFK assassination and George Wallace getting shot.  Moon landing.  And others.  Last half of the 60s could catch a SoCal kid's attention.

I was painting Chevelle front ends, on the assembly line at the GM Plant, in Tarrytown, N.Y., when the announcement came over the intercom. Sad day  :(. They shut down the lines, and let us leave.
John
