According to Harley's online catalog, the fan assisted cooler kit fits 2017, 2018, and 2019 air/oil cooled M-8's.  Follow this link, click on the fitment tab.

https://www.harley-davidson.com/store/fan-assisted-oil-cooler-kit

I notice they didn't list CVO's, but they also didn't list CVO's for 2017 and 2018 and we know people added either the full kit or just the fan on more than a few of those earlier bikes.  No guarantee it will work of course, Harley never makes it as simple as we might think it should be.  I noticed on a 2019 parts diagram for the CVO RG they don't show the old shroud on the back of the cooler like they had on the earlier years.

Boom23 what part number did you use for your 19?  Same as Jerry advised?  Did you order just the fan and shroud or the entire kit?  I have a 19 RG coming and trying to get all accessories ordered for when the bike arrives.  My dealer advised the 19's have a different part number for the oil cooling rad.  I asked him to order the fan and shroud part number as mentioned in this form topic and he would not guarantee fitment.

I installed the complete fan assisted oil cooler (HD part # 62700204). Everything fit perfectly. I re-used the stock oil hoses as they were newer than the ones that came with the kit (there is a date on the hose). I replaced 3 of the 4 oil hose clamps with the clamps from the kit. One factory installed clamp (furthest from oil cooler on longer hose) was hard to get to, so I left it alone.

The dealer enabled the fan and it works! So far, I have not seen oil temperature over 235 degrees. I'll keep an eye on the temp, especially during stop & go riding. I'm satisfied with it. Again, I installed it on my 2019 CVO Road Glide.

Thanks Jerry and Boom.  I was trying to get away with not having to go with the whole kit and just buying fan and shroud.  Kit is almost $500.00 up here in Canada!

Fred how are you monitoring temp with an oil dip stick with temperature?

Boom23 should answer that question for you.  My bike has not been delivered yet but Boom has the unit installed.

You may still be able to do just the fan and shroud instead of the entire kit, I can't tell from the information I have.  Someone will eventually have to try it and let us know if the fan and shroud will just bolt right up like it did on previous model years, without having to also replace the cooler itself.

From the 2019 parts pictures (see previous posts), the non-fan-assisted oil cooler looks different from the assisted one (at least the mounting point areas). Maybe you can buy the fan and fan holder and install it on the oil cooler but you will have to cut the oil cooler mounting points. I guess someone can try but, after time spent, I am not sure there will be any savings.

Again, from the parts pictures, the 2018 oil cooler assembly seems to have the fan bracket, minus the fan. I am guessing that Harley decided to reduce production costs (but increase inventory costs). So, it may be possible for one to get the 2018 oil cooler assembly and add the fan to it.

I use the dip stick oil temp gauge to monitor temps.

Again, anything that can potentially lower oil temps on a Harley, is a good upgrade, as far I am concerned.

Just purchased one for my 2018 CVO RG.  A good investment.  I think I will put the fans on the cyls. too.  Can't hurt.  Will keep cooler on seat in summer time too.

I checked my 19cvo SG and it’s still the same as the 18. Must just be 19 RG that’s different.

I think the issue surrounding the 19's may be the fang spoiler and size of cooler "may" have been altered to accommodate it.  My parts manager advised the cooler on the 19's for the CVO RG is a different number then the 18's were.  Like Jerry said, I am going to have to wait for one of our American friends to try just the fan and shroud install on a 19.  Parts just to expensive up here to experiment.

I have dealer installing one on mine next week. Will post how it goes. I just told them to install fan assisted oil cooler so not sure what they ordered. Hopefully they knew RG was different from others.

I am a little confused on this fan assisted oil cooler upgrade. I have a 2017 non CVO SGS and the upgrade is something I would like to do but I am confused whether my oil cooler will work with just the fan and shroud upgrade or if I have to purchase the entire kit with the oil cooler included.

On another site it was mentioned that the factory fan assisted cooler has 3 mounting tabs on it that the non fan assisted bikes do not have. I would much rather spend $150.00 rather than double that amount if the fan and shroud part number will work for me.

Thanks in advance.

Surdyke thought I was going to resell item, so wouldn't sell to me.  Have to send proof of ownership before the will sell to me.
Ordered from my local dealer, however paid about $30 more!  Darn.  :-[

Allan any update on your fan install?  Did you have to put the cooler on as well or could you get away with just fan and shroud?
