Title: Windshield Options
Post by: Badger Mike on September 09, 2018, 08:44:32 PM
What are the options for the 2019 Road Glides?  I put my first 150 miles on today, and the stock windshield is just not going to cut it!

Which color did you get? Pics?
I ordered a Memphis Shades spoiler 10 inch for my 19 but don't have bike or shield yet. Love the looks and hoping it works. I had a MS on my 17 SG and loved it. When I called them they said the 10 inch on the RG should work the same. Hope so..

Freedom, Memphis Shades, Clearview are all top quality shields.  :2vrolijk_21:

I buy from windvest every time. Look at their shields. I think they are the best. I've tried almost all of em too.  Stuart.

I run a Klock Werks 14" sport flair on my 18 CVO RG.

I'm a Klock Werks guy, so I'm hoping that they have something out.  I did see on their facebook page where they are asking for pictures of 2019 CVO's, so maybe they have them done.

Brian Klock is a great guy, helped me a lot with my Indian and custom trunk for that bike.  He and I are the only ones that we know of with a factory painted trunk for the 2017 Jack Daniels bike.  They do really quality work on everything that they produce.

Clearview is my favorite. The Clearview has the flare at the top, but the best thing is it flares out on the sides at the bottom. The bottom flare is great for keeping wind off of my ears, makes the ride a lot more enjoyable.

No difference in the fairing and windshield mount has not changed since the first 2015 Rushmore road glide.  I had a Klock windshield on my 15 with in a month of the new fairing coming out.

I called Klock Werks, turns out they had not updated their website to include the 2019's.  Ordered a 9", can't wait to get that on there so I can hear my stereo while I ride.

Just road with the 9" Klock Werks, still a lot of wind.  I'm going to try the 14" and see if that is any better.  I would think that the Road Glide would push less wind to the rider than my Street Glide, but it seems like more ;)

I'm 6 ft3. 14"windvest is perfect for me. No wind.  No buffeting.    You clockworks guys have no idea what you are missing.  Their shape is the problem but some like to look cool rather than be comfortable.   Just my h.o.    Stuart.

I went with what I had on my 16 RG it was the stock 14” and I agree with you the factory one is just for looks and sales. I put the one I had on my CVO ultra on it is like night and day. I will explore others next spring.

I tried the 14 KW and it distorts the road. I like to look over the shield but let’s face it you have to look through it some times like when cresting a hill

I went with the Klock Werks 2310-0569 with the lighter tint.  Looks Great  Matches the styling of the bike and KILLS THE WIND!  Can hear the stereo now, comfortable up to and beyond 70MPH.   Love it.

What about the curve on the top of the shield that distorts the road. I couldn’t get past that. Maybe didn’t give it enough time

I tried a Klock works years ago.  Thought it absolutely sucked.    Windvest makes the best. I've tried most of em.   Stuart

:(  They all look the same!  Looks like you just go with what you know or like?  KlockWerks for me.  The Freedom won't work with the HD fairing glove box, per there website.

I was in a hurry because I just got my 'glide two days before a 4 day trip.
15" Harley accessory is a waste of time.
Still can't hear my stereo and my head feels like it's on a weeble, wobble.

Those glove boxes suck. Mine kept on coming unglued and the magnet came off and had to Re glue it. I ended up throwing the piece of china chit away
