Title: Inner Fairing Paint Problem...
Post by: Coolbreeze on October 15, 2007, 04:03:00 PM
Hey kids, I have a question.   I have an '05 SEEG, (red), and the paint just above the tach and speedo, (the between/above area) popped off this weekend on my long ride.  It looks like the paint just never adhered to the the fibreglass, and finally just popped off....   I have no extended warrantee.    Do I have anything that I should talk to the dealer about, or am I just out in the cold at this point?

I have to travel quite a ways to see a dealer because of issues with the local dealer, so I am hoping that there is some sort of a service letter regarding this....  (but I don't know where to look to find out!)

Help?

'breeze,

I'm not aware of any special program from H-D on the '05 paint, but you could give the H-D "Customer Service" folks a call.  With all the various paint issues on the '05/'06 models, they might be willing to make some kind of policy adjustment and at least cover a percentage.  Worth a shot.
