Newbie from Alaska
« on: February 09, 2007, 10:09:15 PM »

I bought the Jester in Dec it is still at the dealer. I won't be able to ride it until the end of May, It's cold in Alaska! I wish I would have found it before I bought it. I'm a little worried about the heat problem.  Thanks for all the great info everyone post on this site.  Thank

Welcome from NJ. It's pretty cold down here right now too. Hang in there spring is on it's way. You have a short riding season there but some beautiful scenery. Good luck with that beautiful machine.                                             :welcome_005:

Welcome aboard Hawg.  I've been to Alaska three times:  A refueling stop on the way to Viet Nam in '67, another on the back in late '68 and about 8 or 10 years ago I spent a week around Lake Iliamna doing some salmon fishing and taking in nature.  Beautiful place!  It also busted a myth for me.  I've always heard in Texas that we need a good hard freeze in the winter to kill off the insects.  Well, Alaska has some pretty hard freezes, I'm guessing but you also have some of the biggest damn mesquitos I've ever seen.  We had to lash down our equipment to keep them from flying off with it.

Let us help you kill some time while you patiently wait on spring to can ride that blue beauty.

Welcome to the site.  Which dealer did you get it from.  Was up that way to fish on the Kenia river a couple of years ago,  great country to ride in when it isn't snowing.  Just watch out for the moose.

Welcome to the best site on the web.  There are some topics on here that address your concerns about heat and the 110.  Big thing is, get those stock mufflers (and headers, IMO) off and open up that AC and have it SERT'd , PC'd, TMax'd (your choice), to get that AFR down to a more tolerable level, and your heat problems will be, for the most part, gone.  Enjoy the site and I hope you have deep pockets, cuz some of these guys, not me of course ::), will love to spend your money for you.

Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

Beautiful place!  It also busted a myth for me.  I've always heard in Texas that we need a good hard freeze in the winter to kill off the insects.

Yeah - they say that - whoever they are but the bugs in northern Michigan are worse than Ohio - I think its the Darwin theory - Only the strongest survive - season after season. Thus the bugs that remain are only the baddest of the bad! BTW - last week here in Michigan it was colder than Anchorage, -22 :o Now I've ridden in the teens before but that chit there was COLD!

Hey HW,

Welcome, welcome. Right now I'm thinking ARGDHHH however 2 beautiful smurfettes will be pretty cool side by side on a road trip to Fairbanks or to the Kenai. Yes I reside in Palmer/ Wasilla area except I will not ship this bike for about a year. You must have taken the one someone had a change of heart on in November as I received a call but had already made a deal in Kauai.

Take a good look around the site as a wealth of info here and willingness to help spend your money.

I will not head back North until late April/ early May but p.m. me and we will hook up, talk story or ???

Most excellent choice of scooter. Aloha  :pineapple:

Welcome to the fantastic site. Dont worry about the heat, all you need to do is like alot of others have said on this site and to you. get rid of that stock exhaust, install a SERT/PCII etc.. new A/F. Let the bike breathe and you are set.
Good luck on getting out before May. I plan on being over 5k by then. Wish more but I do have to work to pay for my toys.

Very nice bike. I think the Blue is my favorite color in the 07 SEUC now that I've seen all of them for awhile. There's some pics of one with some sweet modifications on one of the threads. The owner swapped out the leather tour-pak for a hardshell Ultra style King Tour-pak and had it painted to match. Did some other nice things as well. No lack of ideas on what you can do if you roam around the different threads. So, Welcome to the site. Make yourself at home. Hell we'll even forgive you if you post 50 times a day. You've got a better excuse than some people we know LOL Hope to get to know you as Alaska will be the last of the 50 states I have ridden in to be conquered after this summer's run to Nelson. I'm hoping to head your way in 08 perhaps.

B B

Somehow I don't think you're going to be bothered by the rear headpipe heat issue dude.
