Hogtunes Discards
« on: March 11, 2007, 09:22:56 AM »

Does anyone have a pair, or 4, HogTunes speakers they would like to get rid of? Of yeah, they must work, no blown units thank you.

I don't have an amp anymore, and two fairning speakers leave a lot to be desired.

Thanks,

Chief

One word for you Chief.  Hawg Wired Amplifier and Good Speakers.

Chit, ok, six words.

Well, maybe five.  I don't know how the company actually spells Hawg Wired (HawgWired, Hawg-Wired).

But anyway....   It's good stuff Maynard. :huepfenlol2:

Someday, but not now. I recognize the benefit, but I need to overcome this winter's OCD damage first. I'm putting the rear speakers into the lowers, and thought speaker upgrades at the same time would be nice. I'm looking to benefit by other's first attempt before they got drawn to the holy grail.

Well, 4 will be better than two, regardless of brand, even stock.

E88,

I'm not aware about a Hog Pro unit. Do you have any details?

Chief;
Your 07 radio needs a 2 ohm speaker, be sure if you get some they are correct as most out there are going to be 4 ohms.

Having played with each of their standard speakers can say there's not significant difference.  Both good.  Very competitive products.  I got my HW speakers as a freebie so had the opportunity to compare them side by side.

Later, however, when the HW component speakers came out I bought a set.  Those are the speakers that are the top of the heap among those considered here.  Even for someone with as tinny an ear as mine the difference is real and pronounced.

I appreciate your offer. I have the four stock units, and am looking to upgrade.

I just got off of the phone with HogTunes. They are in the process of developing grills so you can mount their rear speakers in fairing lowers. Their design will tilt the speakers up so they are aimed towards the rider. It's not ready yet, but will be pretty soon.

He also told me they are working on a 6 spkr kit. Their kit adds their amp to run the main fairing speakers, and uses the radio to drive the lower fairing and tour pak speakers. This way, you can have 4 speakers without the TP, and six when you ride with the TP. Probably looking at six months until its ready.

This just might be the ticket if you don't want to go hog wild and get the Hawg Wired system.

Taking baby steps,

Chief

I am in now way dissing the  Hawg Wired set up, but both husband and I have the Hog Tune speakers and we both love them.  Pez, the owner and member of this fine site, offers us a discount.  He called on a weekend when my husband ordered a set for me just to make sure he had not made a mistake since Pez had just sent an order out to our address.  He replaced, no problems when husband's speakers pooped out.  Absolutely the very best $100 spent on our two CVO bikes.  So sorry, no discards from our house.
