Potentially cheap bike lift
« on: January 18, 2005, 10:49:06 PM »

Anyone got any familiarity with this product.  "Speedway" branded products used to be at Sam's Clubs and some of it wasn't crap.  But some of it was.  So was wondering if anyone had seen these products in person before.

You can't really tell from the picture.  Nothing to compare against for perspective and no dimensional information given.  I emailed just that question but havnen't gotten a response yet.  GoFastGirl forwared the link to me as she's now thinking about some kind of "platform that a girl could use" to make detailing the upcoming bke a little easier.  She doens't have air in her garage so a pneumatic lift is out of the question.

While doing a little snooping online over a late lunch here I found something I'd not seen before that I actually quite like the idea of.  Kendon (the trailer people) are now offering a bike lift that folds up and stands in a corner or against a wall for storage akin to what their fold up trailer models do.  A handy idea for someone who either doesn't have the floor space to always leave it down or who isn't big enough to manhandle a lift out of the way that isn't designed to begin with for easy movement.

Found it a couple of places on line for $600.00.  Still not cheap as you can get some relatively nice air operated units for the same money.  But there's nothing for the easier-to-manage space saving when not in use that this one seems to offer.
