AMP Multilock Connector Sources
« on: February 13, 2008, 07:46:22 AM »

For a recent project I needed to find a non-HD (cheaper) source for the black AMP Multilock connectors used all over our bikes.

I turned up two web sites that will be helpful to anyone searching for the same.

First, this one has the AMP part numbers.
AMP Multilock Part Numbers (From Namz Custom cycle)

Black Plug Search Results. Follow links to purchase:
Black AMP Multilock Plugs

Black Receptacle Cap Search Results. Follow links to purchase: All but the 8-place. :nixweiss:
Black AMP Multilock Receptacle Caps (No 8 Place)

Black 8-Place AMP Multilock Receptacle Cap

Hopefully this information will be helpful to you.

Namz has them, but they're expensive. The 8-place plug they sell for $2.34. Master Distributors, linked to on the Tyco page, sells for $0.62.  :nixweiss:

If you need to buy a fair number of connectors or maybe a Deutsch tool, you'll do very well by going to Ladd Industries (www.laddinc.com). Ladd is the exclusive US distributor for Deutsch. Everybody else who sells them orders them from Ladd, or another reseller. Their prices are the lowest you will find and their customer service is extremely helpful. They do have a $50 minimum, but the prices are about half that of others.

Can anyone lend a hand in telling me what I need for the switched power under the seat?  Something the dealer stocks?

Found the hot pin today under the seat, confirmed it functions off the left side switch on my forks, want to use it for my heated jacket so I can turn it off/on when I need/want to.

What will I need to put a Deutch connector on?

Make up the one end but splice 2 ends to the connector, Y shaped widget.
Double check your "Gold" book on the circuit max..120 watts?  (10 amps x 12 volts)   :nixweiss:
