Put it this way, if I have to be dirty looking, tattoo'd, have a chained wallet, wear worn out boots, and ride a bike that never gets cleaned...then I guess I'm not a biker. If my bike has to built from spare parts...then I guess I'm not a biker. If I have to be uneducated...then I guess I'm not a biker. I guess that these last 38-40 years that I've been riding a motorcycle have just been thrown away, since I will apparently never be a biker. If I'm not a biker, then what am I? I ride whenever possible, and when I'm not riding, my spare time is spent cleaning my bike, repairing or installing parts, reading and writing about bikes online, or searching out new parts for my bike. If anyone asks, I think I'll just tell them I am a "hardcore riding enthusiast". If they want to toss that in the biker category, so be it. If not, I could not care less. Maybe I need to get some patches made..."I'm not a biker, I'm a Hardcore Riding Enthusiast". Then, at least we can differentiate the two groups, so the public can be pissed at 2 groups instead of one for loud pipes.
