Hey Trapperdog!  Glad you and the Ms. like the locking glove boxes.  The best endorsement is obviously from folks like you...not me spewing how great a product these are.  I tried to think things out and keep it simple, but found that simple actually requires more engineering, not less.  You CVOers are the best testers/evaluators out there because you love your bikes and have an appreciation for what's good and what's crap.  Needless to say, I am humbled by all the positive feedback.  I've never ventured into anything like this before and the prospect of the product's success and worrying about every little detail has been rather daunting.  I'm not sure where to go from here other than get the word out as best I can that I'm offering a well designed and constructed product at a great value. My business sense tells me word of mouth definitely helps get things rolling.  So thanks to all of you who have given a thumbs up to the project.  PJ

Now it's a contest.  Can the CVO crowd run PJ out of stock before he can build more :huepfenlol2: ?

Hey Don - if it gets that crazy I'll just take some vacation time from my regular job to build more!  FYI, I've got enough stock for right now.  PJ

Peter,
Received mine today as promised.  3 minutes later installed and fantastic.  Great product, well made and very good instructions.  They must be good instructions if I could handle them. :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

Has anyone explored the option of installing push button releases instead of key locks yet?
I don't have the time to be the guinea pig on this one........

Not much to guinea pig there Brad.  Either they'll fit in the hole and the tab is a right length or its not.  No trial and error on this one.  If someone doesn't want to buy a push button to test it take an extra couple of minutes and unscrew the one from your gas door to try it with.

What would be the advantage of the push button?  Almost $60 extra and you still need to use a key.  The current ones push close and take a key to open.  Please explain.  Don't see what it buys you.

There is also a push button that is just a push button.  No key to deal with.

Okay. Thanks.  I didn't see just a plain push button at Harley's site, but can see where some would find it very convenient.

I'm in a real dilemma with these....they look great and offer the security of the locks......but, I also depend on my lower pockets for access/stashing gloves, chapstick, etc. while riding similar to a windshield bag.  What to do?  :nixweiss: :-[ :-[ :-\ :confused5:  aaaargh.  spyder

When I get the wife's, I am going to try the pushbutton fuel door latch on one side as 2Lane suggested and will post back.
I have the Eglidegoodies on mine and it is nice to have one that opens without a need of a key.

Since the red bike was almost new I've had a pair of visually challenged pockets that hung on the front of the stock doors.  They held CDs and other little things.  Could use them to easily access all kinds of crap while going down the road.

If it weren't for a radio that plays MP3 and other formats so I can load up a disk with 37,920,247.3 songs I'd hate to lose those pockets.  But I do keep things stuffed in the glove boxes that I'm actually pleased to see more visually secure (i.e., these doors could of course be pried off the bike if anyone knew it, but they'll see the lock and think it's really hard to get in to so won't mess with it).  So it's worth losing the external pouches to have all the spare sensors and relays and other parts I keep stuffed in the right glove box all locked up.
