Dyna Beads balancing system
« on: September 01, 2009, 12:54:06 PM »

These little ceramic beads have been a known quantity long enough know there should be some informed opinion of their effectiveness.  Do they work well?  Not at all?  Vary by road condition or speed?  What's the story.

Not asking how a tire manufacturer's warranty might be jeopardized by their use.  Just if they work.

I have a set of mag wheels on my Deuce. Every tire balance so far I have had to add weights. They went on in almost the same spot every time as well. The last tire change that I did myself, I removed the stick-on weights and added dyno beads. The bike is as smooth as glass without any add-on weights.

I understand they do no work that well with tubes and tubeless tires need to be inspected for ridges inside as well. Then can only work if they can roll freely in the tire without any restrictions or obstacles.

Wait a minute, not so fast.  Isn't that the same guy who told us how great that SE compensator was, right before he blew it up?  I want a second opinion.

Don if you would ever get around to mounting my new tires (dyna beads included) you could try them out for yourself.   :huepfenlol2:

They work great! I have used everything from golf balls in 18-wheeler tires. Sand, Equal & even nylon balls ( used in down hole oilwell treating ) in 1-ton & 3/4-ton trucks. Now Dyna Beads in HD tires. ALL worked good , but odd number amounts work best. YES, I counted. JMO

gentlemen, please stay serious  ;D

It's really a highly interesting matter for people on the other (or wrong?  ;)) side of the pond.

Officially those things over here are regarded as "kind of voodoo".

So I would rally appreciate some hard facts  ;)

What's there really more to say. You put em in, and either they'll work or they won't. So I put em in. My bike doesn't have vibration with em, and I have no weights on now. That's working to me. So who do that voodoo that you do so well?!!! ;D ;D ;D

... You put em in, and either they'll work or they won't. ...

that's not exactly the answer that will impress those engineers that do over here decide if your bike is road-worthy or not  ;)

If they decide your ride is not road-worthy, you loose insurance-coverance and will be guilty of some minor but very ennoying penal provisions ...

Well I tried em and they worked. If they didn't work, I'd have removed em. No rocket science there.  But I guess you can't use em with them rocket scientists you have to please over there. Mfr says they void W.....ty. That's prolly all they need to hear. Use wheel weights. We don't have that issue here, and I could GAS about a W.....ty! FTW!!! ;)

I never heard of them before I read these threads. Do they just roll around loose? and center in the place they need to? and when you stop, they go to the bottom of the tire, and when you start they center again?  How many are there in the gob?
