Head on in SF Bay Area
« on: June 16, 2010, 11:21:42 AM »

I saw this report last night. Definite tragedy.  My prayers to the families of the fallen riders and to the teenage boy who hit them.  In this story, I feel for the kid being in-experienced and doing a natural reaction that most experienced drivers would have done I can't blame him for what happened and sorry he will live with a horrid image for life I am sure.

I hope the find the guy in the truck.

Sad situation for everybody involved.

They'll find out about the truck today or tomorrow and it'll all come out in the open.  I find it interesting that another station reported that the driver's of the truck and the Honda were having an argument prior to the accident.  Was it road rage? :nixweiss:

You know, I didn't hear that about the other station reporting that.  Which station?  Although, I will admit when I heard about this I was wondering if that might be the cause.  Guess we will find out when they find this guy, and if it was road rage, I hope they get whats coming to them.

Utah man charged in fatal Highway 4 bypass crash

MARTINEZ — A Utah man has been charged with causing the deaths of two motorcyclists on the Highway 4 bypass and then leaving the scene, prosecutors said Friday.
John McDonald, 46, of South Jordan, Utah, faces two counts of vehicular manslaughter with an enhancement of leaving the scene of the June 15 crash, and a charge of hit-and-run causing great bodily injury, according to the District Attorney's Office.
McDonald had been making arrangements through his attorney to surrender, and was expected to do so later Friday, after which he would be arraigned, deputy district attorney John Cope said.
Brentwood resident Gina Blackstone, 47, and Anthony Soldano, 56, of Burlingame, were killed when their motorcycle was struck head-on about 4:40 p.m. by a Honda Civic driven by a 19-year-old Antioch woman. The Civic driver had veered into eastbound lanes to avoid a swerving black Ford F-350 towing a boat that was headed west, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Antioch woman suffered leg injuries.
CHP Officer Tom Maguire credited callers' tips and media attention with helping investigators track down McDonald.
"We could not have done it without their help," Maguire said. "We have several pieces of independent corroboration that put him at the scene."
Investigators also are exploring whether anyone helped McDonald avoid authorities, Maguire said.

Get your "Motor Running Head", out on the highway!

What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men

Thank goodness they found that F#CKER. For awhile it didn't look like anyone had a clue about the other driver. Hope he pays dearly...
