And the dealers tell me that everything is great. They must not be looking at all the 2015 new bikes in the showroom.

And we've been telling them to tighten up on quality control since the begining of this forum and to advance their technology but they didn't want to listen they just wanted to pocket the ducats and didn't care about the future.  How many years did we ask for ABS brakes before they finally put them on?  And they're still outrageously priced for the antiquated technology in comparison to the competitors.    Now they pay the price.   :nixweiss:

Visited my local dealer yesterday, they were saying 17's are selling before they hit the floor. Good thing cause you couldn't walk thru the crowed showroom for all the leftovers.  :drink:

You can be assured resale value for the twin cams will drop like a rock over the next year.

Yep.  Remember when the Twin Cam replaced the Evo...

They have said this before in negotiations. If new ones are selling before getting to dealer then they need more.   But my dealer said Harley is hurting. They aren't selling to millennials and so older crowd is fading. So less sales.

From what I observed at Sturgis, Indian and Victory are cutting into Harley sales more than I think is being reported. I saw A LOT of both out there on the roads.

You could prolly get a good deal on a used Harley at either Victory or Indian as they are both full of HD trades and I'm sure they don't want to hang on to them.

Harley Davidson of San Diego is huge with literally 100s of motorcycles on the floor.  They advertise as "California's Largest Dealership".

Got an email from them today....."$5,000 off of all new 2015s Labor Day only".   I've never really paid any attention to what year their bikes are but was surprised when I realized it was 2015 and not 2016.  Do they really still have that many 2015s left?  And does a dealership make $5k off of each bike sold at MSRP?

Definately a long, long way from the days when I bought my 86 Heritage, 89 Ultra Classic and 04 SEEG....those that I had to put a deposit down and wait months for them to come in.  Now the showrooms are flooded with inventory and apparently two years old.   :nixweiss:

It ain't just Indian and Victory, the economy is the biggest culprit.  Jody was telling me the biggest HD Dealer in the US is Barnett's in El Paso.  They ain't sellin' chit, cause all them roughnecks ain't workin'.  Nobody working, nobody buying.  And it ain't just El Paso.  The biggest competition any business has today, is our own government.  Later--HUBBARD

It appears that sales of motor  vehicles  in general have reached a plateau and may decline in 2017.  Harley motorcycles being the luxury items they are, will  fall at least as much as others.

Was in Houma, LA Harley Davidson last week.  They had a lot of 2016 on the floor, All three colors of CVO Road Glide Ultra, all three colors of CVO Limited, three colors of CVO Street glide and both colors of the break out.  As stated, the oil field and none of the sport groups are working.  When the patch was booming he might have two CVO on the floor max.

why would I run out and buy a new Harley, I like CVO RG Customs.  No 2017 and my 2013 worth half after 4 years. People would buy them why not offer them. Seems simple 20 k RG 4 k in extra 38 k  CVO.  When dealing with the motor company nothing surprises me.

Gen Mils will buy Harleys
Saw a Harley in my son's parking lot at college.
Work with Gen Mils who ride Harleys.
But they are NOT limited to Harleys.
If HD puts out a quality product at a good price they will sell.
