I am probably more unorganized than most. My workbench is usually covered with things, and don't get me started on my desk. BUT, when it comes to my tool boxes, I am a bit OCD. Virtually every socket and wrench is in a tray, screwdrivers/pliers/ratchets and extensions are all in their own drawers with foam cut outs so I can keep track of what I have misplaced or my stepson has borrowed and not returned. Even non-foamed drawers are very neat and organized. I have used the toolbox foam from Sears for years. I recently found out that Sears no longer sells the kits, which were a tad pricey in my opinion, for two foam sheets. Well, I attempted to find foam online, and found many resellers, but their prices are CRAZY. Made Sears look cheap. You have to use a denser foam, or it really does not work well. Found a great alternative to both the online guys and even Sears. Yoga mats! Found an extra thick version, 1/2" thick, 71"x24", for $19.99 with free shipping. One side is grooved for grip, but I am turning that side down and the other looks and feels better than the Craftsman foam. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IIQUBY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If there are any other OCD tool guys on here, thought you might could use my find.

Beautiful rigs, guys.
If I had that kind of setup, it would look good like that for maybe a month, but then...
I keep trying, but I just can't stay super organized with tools.
I guess if I had more mechanic's blood in me, I would be better about it. :nixweiss:
Now, my photo and computer stuff? That's a different story. I know where everything is and everything has it's place and I keep it there.
That makes me more of a geek than a mechanic, I guess? :P

that's friggin awesome. quick suggestion on the yoga mat though. before ordering it online, check your local marhsall's or tj maxx. they usually have a bunch of that kind of stuff pretty cheap.

I did the same thing (guess 20 years in the Air Force sticks with you). Instead of one color my base color is orange, so when a tool is missing, that orange catches your eye real easy.

Dave, you have spent way to much time shopping on those big tool trucks over the years. :huepfenlol2:
