So I wonder, should this be encouraging for a RG CVO Anny owner, because production numbers are reduced, or....?

:soapbox: That's what happens when you get so greedy you charge $1,000 for a color and a medallion. :huepfenlol2:

Actually, it sounds like I will get two medallions, so only $500 each, hahaha.

Think again... I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the dealer will keep your old medallion when he replaces it. I doubt the MoCo will want/allow their FUBAR to be left out in the public. :huepfenlol2:

To get a new medallion I expect the dealer will have to send the old one in just like a restricted part. I wonder how many will opt to keep the "wrong" medallion?
My old 100th E Glide Classic had a EG Standard plate on it and I never had it changed. Just like to be different I guess! :2vrolijk_21:

That won't work unless you never take it in for service.
The first time you do you'll get it back with a new "550" medallion.

I wouldn't think they would be allowed to do that. i.e. take stuff off your bike without your permission. I would be pyssed if they did something like that. :o
-
What if it were to "fall off"?
-
I don't care either way ::)

From what I'm hearing sales are actually really good on Anniversary Roadglide my dealer got 2 both were pre sold.Im thinking there is paint supply issue
-
My dealer had his sold before they hit the floor. Has other people wishing he could get more.
Doubt it is the paint, I have not heard of a cut to the King or Ultra in the same colors
-
Typical HD conspiracy.

That would be one big mistake!

I'm not sure why you think that. If the limited production has been loweredto 550 I would think you would want the correct medallion.
However, if it was the other way around and they suddenly decided to go from 550 to 900 I too would be pissed.

:2vrolijk_21: I am somewhat confused why anyone would bitch about changing the badge. Anyone who really cares about the "every five years anniversary" models should want their bike to appear to be more exclusive, not less. Number 102 out of 550 sounds a lot more exclusive than number 102 out of 900. Not that it will make any difference in value down the road, but for folks who get off on that stuff it might be important.

another way to look at it is having 1 badge of 550 or the only badge of 900. Some may prefer the later.

There's quite a few of the "900" badges...the first run had those. They apparently just caught up with the error and the last batch that came out has the new badge on it. So unless you conspire with the others that have 900 badges to have theirs replaced, you won't be the only one with a 900 badge...and like Jerry said, unless you're totally into the "every 5 year anniversary model" thing, it really doesn't matter...the only time that the Annie model is worth more than the others is when you buy it from the dealer.
-
Who cares about the badge? I'm still wondering why they can't sell 900 bikes of one model.... Maybe they should have tried it with a Street glide instead... :behead2:

My beef isn't with having to change a badge if i had a wrong one. It was responding to an earlier comment and my statement that it would be "one big mistake" refered to the idea that some guy in a service dept would make the change on my bike without my approval or knowledge. Personally it doesn't matter one way or another to me.
On another note, I heard that the opposite was true and there was supposed to be 900 and 550 was a mistake. I guess we will all know if we see 551 of 550! :huepfenlol2:
-
Saw one at my dealership that came in yesterday. Had a 550 badge on it. By the way it is available to purchase
-
Well this may explain some of the confusion some of us have been having with the end #. I'm fine getting my 169 of 900 "fixed" to 550 if that is the number. I would also think that the dealer would have to ask to fix it, let alone have the mothership overnight the correct plat to them. I will be damned if I will have my limited riding time limited even more because of a cosmetic fix being done, that was not requested by me.

In the manufacturing world it is on them to correct any parts on their sales that is not correct. In this case the badges would be concidered faults advertisement. Otherwise people would tell everyone they were only going to make a 100, and then make 10,000.

Well Guys I have some good info on the badge. I just got off the phone with District Manager of Field Operation from HD, apparently at york facility their was a misprint on a batch of bike badges that were sent out on some of the bikes. They will be correcting this problem, you will need to notify your dealer and they will replace the 550 badge with 900 but they will need misprint badges to give you the correct one.
-
Ha! I don't think the people with the 550 badges will be wanting to give up their mis-printed badges for the correct one!

The "Mothership" knows who you are........... :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

And to repeat......where is Quality Control????? It's been missing since the new management team came on board!
-
My eagle just landed today. 564 of 900. Love it!!!! Thanks Timmy and Bumpus of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. :orange:
-
What happens to your bike when it's one of 550? Does it vaporize?
-
:bananarock: Just got a call from the dealer 555/900 has landed today
-

I'm with you there. That'd be a foolish move for anyone to do something like that without a headsup to the owner.

They having no trouble selling the CVO kings in my area. My dealer has moved every one he could get, none have even hit the floor. 575 of 900 was just unloaded from the truck yesterday and sold weeks ago.
He has also sold 3 of the orange, and two of the gold.

I believe we have a winner for the question on how to keep the old medalion.....sounds like a plan. :2vrolijk_21:
-
eventually those misprint badges will be worth big bucks.....

Yup. In about 100 years........... :P :P

I got a litter fro moco today. They want me to take my bike to the dealer. They will run the vin # and check that I have the correct medalion on my bike. If it the wrong one (one with the 500) they will order the correct medialion and replace for free. For taking the bike in to the dealer they will send a hard cover museum book. Sound like they really want those wrong medialons back. If I had the wrong one there is no way I would let them have it.
-
Just received the letter from HD Headquarters. The fact is that they ARE making 900 however some of the medallions state whatever number out of 550. It is supposed to state whatever number out of 900. The letter references this screw-up and requests any owner of the CVO Anniversary '13 that has an incorrect medallion referencing only 550 in production to return their bike to the dealer and they will replace the medallion. Yes, HD is controlling the replacement so that no wrong medallions are floating around. I guess it is a better mistake than if HD installed the wrong motor on the bike. Seeing all the screw-ups that leave the factory I wouldn't be surprised by anything.

1 is still at my dealer.i tried to buy it but he wanted to much trade difference.so their it sits.

That's how we entertain ourselves during a long winter.... Now that that one is done maybe we should get back to real issues like the new liquid cooled 2014s! :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

BETTER KNOWN AS "WATER HEADS"
ALSO DON'T FORGET THAT THE 2014 CVO'S WILL COME WITH 120R PLATFORMS.
:o :o :o :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

One thing we all can agree on; HD keeps a tight lip on each next year's offerings. No one really knows for sure what they will or won't offer until they release the new models. It's fun to speculate about water cooled, 120R engines and the like but until they release the new models we are all just letting our imagination (and the talk on the street) run wild.
-
From the numbers given on another thread here there were 921 105th anniversary crystal copper/black onyx 2008 CVO springers made. My badge says 0615 of 1050. When is the MOCO going to send me a corrected badge? :nixweiss:
-
I guess my 691 of 900 was a mistake if there are only 550
-
If you have a 2013 CVO Anniversary Road Glide, then your number is correct. The 550 is wrong.

:o :o :o :nixweiss: :nixweiss:
I do not think you will see a water hog 120R motor in 2014.
Reason is they do not even have a water cooled 120R yet let alone a 120R for the consumer market yet.
I would guess we will see an air cooled 120R next then once they modify a 120R in the competition market to be a water cooler it will then come to the street market.
MoCo is no different than autos when new technology comes they us it on non production before they bring to the streets
-
Maybe oil cooled heads for 2014 RG?

Took my bike in for the 10,000 mile service. H.D. has a service bulletin out for the Dealer to check the tank Badge. The service manager said if I had one of the badges that showed 500 total production that they would have taken it off my bike and replaced with the correct one. I told him that would of been a big mistake! He says that H.D. is very determined to get these badges back.
