Carl,
Heads and pistons are stock 103"; and heads have never been off the engine.
A great improvement in the torque band with the cams and the oil pressure with the feuling pump & lifters is great. Hard to put a price tag on improvements, but the added grin factor is priceless.

Joe

That's amazing, Joe!  Are the spec's on those Cams posted?  Where?  If not, would you mind posting them?  I can relate to the grin factor!  ;) Sometimes I get to grinnin' so much, it takes a "Oh Chit!", factor to make me whoa-up!  :o You know, like comin' up on a 4-way, Stop Sign Intersection, at about 130 MPH.  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Later--HUBBARD

Carl,
Brad (Freedom Cycles) won't publish the specs and I'd sure like to see them as well.
Keeping it from the competition is the reason. Only thing I got info wise was that they changed the exhaust side of the cams a bit from the FCC9 (early version). I suppose they'll come out with the specs eventually and we'll all know.

Roll on!

Damn Joe, those are some sweet numbers for cams without any head work or other stuff going on (ok, that about covers that part).  The printout makes it look likes you feel plenty in early and you keep the best part during the pass-a-truck RPMs.  Does if feel as good as the printout looks?

Othewise notice any other differences?  Gear set noisy or quiet enough?  How about clearance for the cams?  Do these fit ok or require a bit of work?

Glad you seemed pleased with the work.  That's the most important part of the entire thing after all.  Have fun.

Brad calls it "educating the competition".  He's pretty adament about not disclosing the proprietary information.

Hello,
This has convinced me that I have to have the cam kit. Why would I need the billet cam plate and oil pump etc.? I have 24K and original tensioners.

If you are not going to do the upgrade yourself better to do the oil pump at this time as bike will be tore down and it easy to get to, and save some money on labor. You mention you have 24k and original tensioners are you considering staying w/chain driven cams? The number one reason for me upgrading was to get rid of the potential weak link w/the cam chain tensioners. The added benefit of more HP/TQ was secondary on my upgrades. Another benefit to the oil pump upgrade was it added more pressure/volume at idle. Some have had this benefit of added pressure/volume by using the Zippers Bypass Oil Shim or similar product.

I wasn't doing the install myself and didn't want to have everything put back together to find out the tensioners were worn out. Also when the tensioners wear out chunks of the plastic can get caught up in the oil pump and cause failures.

Mike,
I definitely recommend going ahead with the Feuling oil pump & lifters along with the gear driven cams. The plate is more of an option, but if you shop around they can be had for less than list prices. At 24K, you are probably close to seeing the end of the tensioners and maybe some oil pump damage if they're worn beyond limits. At 12K+, the inside tensioner was bad and the oil pump had some scoring on mine. I see no advantage to Delkron over Feuling cam support plate, as far as brands go.

Don, to answer your question yes it's really got so much more torque where it's needed, and while there is some new mechanical noise, it's not unwelcome and grows on you. Doesn't sound like a Chevy Z-28 winding up, like I've heard on some older gear driven installations.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Good luck!!
Joe

Tros,
Since asking the question I took apart my bike. All the  information these guys gave me was dead on. The tensioners were almost gone the oil pump was scored and the new parts are on the way!
