I live in Chicago and it has been chilly a drizzling for the past week.  I know I may get a few more rides in, but I know what's coming.....f*cking winter.  I haven't gotten out in 2 weeks....I have a wedding this weekend....an 18 month old and a wife that can deliver my 2nd anytime after this weekend.  I think I'm gonna see how it goes, but I know there are some guys that put it away Octobert 1st....or the first frost....I was just wondering.

When rode hard and put up wet. Or when the snow and ice is on the road, which isn't that often in Albuquerque.

Once the first salt hits the road.

You've been busy having those kids so close together. Only gonna get real interesting in about another 13 years. So how many miles did you manage to get in this year?

When do I put it away?

When I'm finished.   ;)

After putting 3x as many miles on the bike in 4 days in Maggie Valley than what I did the entire rest of the season, I'm cleaning it up for storage right now and it'll go away for good in about a month once I have time to get the fluids changed.  Just can't get excited about riding around here, winter or not.  :nixweiss:

Here in Connecticut I will usually give all the bikes a good thorough cleaning in October before to cold weather sets in and put the Fatboy and the Ducati away for the season sometime around November 1st. The CUSE will also get a good cleaning but I'll keep it ready to ride  --- until the State starts putting down de-icer, that's when I put that one away and suffer withdrawls until after the first cleansing rains of spring......

But this year I'll "put them away" early.....yup puttting all the bikes far "away" from CT  :D   I'm "putting them away" in our new home in Tennessee at the end of October and I hear rumors of all year riding  ;)

Do yourself, your wife and your bike a favor and put it way now. With a baby on the way. You know your life is going to get busy and you may not have the time to put it away right. So do it now when you have the time get it cleaned up and put away the way you want. Then spend the time with your wife and children. Your wife will appreciate it. You never know it could help on at a later date/time when you want to go for "that ride".

A little snow doesn't stop the Nor Cal members......

Even though it has a huge pucker factor, not even ice on the road stops us....

Even a lot of snow and snowing doesn't stop us.....

Even a driving rain or pea soup fog.....none of the above causes illness.

But what will put the brakes on is those triple digit temps!  :nervous:

Here in north central Arkansas just miles from the Missouri border, winter days can either be mild and in the 50s or more, or they can be snow and ice and never get above 20.  Some nights are in the 40s or 50s, while some on occasions it can be below zero.  I'll keep her on a trickle charger all winter and snug in the garage, but I'll be looking for the odd days to take her out and get a fix for myself.  So I guess my answer is putting her up is tentative, but I could easily be riding off and on into early December here if the weather cooperates.

I'm with you Harry, up here in the Pacific NW we can have a nice mellow winter, like the last couple, with some freezing and a couple blasts of snow or our regular winters, which over the years have not lent themselves to getting the bikes out for weeks or even months. So I just keep the tanks full and plug in the battery tenders and keep them at the ready for whenever! Even a couple of hours now and then will help with those winter blues.  :( Ride on!

You got it, Mike.  I seriously thought about selling it this summer, but MV got me rejuvenated.  :2vrolijk_21:
