Longer raised Handle bars for SEEG?
« on: December 30, 2015, 08:47:34 AM »

The SEEG just needs about an higher vertically for them to feel good to me. Does anyone know or has anyone replaced the bars with just like an inch higher and knwo if the break line and electric control wires will reach?

The Harley Davidson Touring Pullbacks are 2" up and 2" back.....worked on my 04 SEEG without changing the brake lines or cables.

Oh hell, that was a lot of years and three CVOs ago.  But a quick google pulls up a set that'll fit your bike that mentions 2" closer to the rider but doesn't say anything about 2" up......   http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/pull-back-touring-handlebar

I remember that it said that you had to change cables and wires but that wasn't the case.  Many of us changed the bars back in 04 and 05 and didn't have to change anything else.  If you go on this SEEG board and go back to the first few pages of posts you'll probably find something about the handlebars.  I posted all my mods (and there were a lot of them) but not all in one thread like I did my 10 SESG.

You may want to take a look at Khrome Werks +2 Sweepers.  Got them on mine and they are great.

OK cool - I don't want 2" pull just 2" rise. Then I need ot figure out what I am going to do about my controls. I want them black but the hydraulic reservoir can't be powder coated. Not sure if I can tear out all the seals and rebuild it or not. Not sure if I can buy an already black reservoir, if so I am sure it's pricey.

Everything else on chrome on the bike is a no brianer. The controls have me stumped and it will look stupid blacked out with all chrome controls imo.

The first bars I put on my 05 SEEG was the wildone 575. Did not have to change anything. They were up about 2" or so. I kept them on for a few years and then went with WO 578. Had to change brake and extend wires. Look at the wild one web site it shows the different from stock to each bar.

575S. are very close to the stock bars to me. . . I had them on my 04 and 12.  I pulled them off and gave them to a friend. .  The 578 are 10" .  I LIKE THE 12" 577 better. . Good luck with your choice. . Stuart.

I have to say, I have 12 inch bars and they are really comfortable.  Im 6'1", it pus my arms just at the downward angle that keeps the blood flowing and upright so my back doesnt get sore on long rides.
