Ugh, Ive seen so many connecters that are way better and more compact these days. Would of made sense to have a round opening for the main connector!  Thanks for the input!!

It took a bit of elbow grease to get it to lock together. But it will click together. Have fun getting it un-done when taking your bag off   :confused5:

Agreed -   Drives me nuts !    I did lubricate the connector's rubber seal with dielectric silicone grease and that helped snapping it together a bunch.    Still hard to separate for cleaning though....

HAHAHA :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:! As OBB pointed out, the 2015/6 CVO Road Glide and CVO Limited bikes come equipped with BOOM! Stage I audio systems which have a single amp under the front fairing. There's no amp under the Tourpak with the stock Stage I setup. The confusion possibility exists because the Twin Cooled Fairing lower speakers are not biamped and thus work with either Stage I or Stage II setups ::).
I ended up doing the 2nd amp under the tour pack. Out of sight out of mind.
So long as Jbbrown stays with the Stage I audio system, his LF speaker installation needs only one more amp .......which can be mounted in his choice of either saddlebag or under the Tourpak. I agree that the Tourpak location is cleaner ......particularly as the saddlebag location requires another wire harness to disconnect when removing that saddlebag :P.

So let me throw out another angle. Could you connect LF speakers without the extra amp if you have removed your tourpak and the speakers attached to it, plugging the LF speakers into the amp as if they were the tourpak speakers? Assuming you rarely used the tourpak and you are happy with boom I.

That should work, however I don't think there is a way to do it without doing some "creative" wiring. To my knowledge Harley doesn't have a plug-n-play solution to that end.

Hey fastfreddy .........while this subject has proven to be confusing, the way I see it the LF speakers can be installed on your Stage I equipped 2016 FLTRUSE if you also install these additional harnesses:
FLTRUSE and FLHTCUTG models require jumper (Part Number 69200489) and interconnect (Part No. 69200714). And for vehicles with Stage I a speaker expansion kit is required to enable six or eight speakers (not sure what this is??).
See the installation instructions:
https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson.com/sip/service/document/60700

You CANNOT add the LF speakers on a 16RGU without adding an amp.
Hey Jbbrown73, I'm thinking these instructions refer to an amplifier installation which I'm thinking only applies if you're adding this kit to a Stage II system ???! As some of the Harley techs are confused about this .......why shouldn't we be confused as well LOL :nixweiss:!

That should work, however I don't think there is a way to do it without doing some "creative" wiring. To my knowledge Harley doesn't have a plug-n-play solution to that end.
That was in response to King Glide's question about somehow wiring the LF speakers into and in lieu of the TourPak speaker connectors. I agree with your "creative wiring" comment :P.

I interpreted these instructions the same way as above, and so did the Harley tech. I bought the speakers, and the 2 harnesses referenced in the speaker's instructions. I took it all to Harley, they installed the speakers and the harnesses and the tech went to flash to "enable" the additional speakers. When there was not an option for that the tech called Harley. Harley explained the stage 1 kit on the CVO Road Glide Ultra is a 4 channel amp, and adding 2 more speakers required the additional amp. No way around it. So at this point I was already in too deep to stop. So, adding the amp I did. I went for under the tour pack so it didn't interfere with my bags.
