Congratulations on your new CVO! It's good to have you with you with us on the web's best forum for CVO owners!
We hope you'll check out the threads regarding our CVO Harley Get-Togethers (GTG's). We always have a great time at these events, and it's an excellent way to put faces with names and make new friends and riding buddies!
We have annual GTG's in California, the Smokies (Sept '16), and in the middle of the country at Eureka Springs, Arkansas (June '17). Please search the site to find out more information about these events, or PM me and I'll be happy to tell you more about the Eureka Springs event. And you can always visit the "Events" section on the forum.
We encourage you to participate if you can make it!
Glad to have you with us!
As for your driver's backrest, get someone to help you. Have them hold a flashlight while you pry open the hole in the seat. See that slot down in there? The two knobs on your backrest have to be squeezed together so the backrest will slide down in that slot. There are three sets of holes down inside that slot that allow you to set your height of the backrest.
I would suggest you take your seat off and check out the bracket for that backrest. It is also adjustable about 1" forward or backward for a more fine-tuned fit. PM me if you have questions on removing the seat. Don't forget it's got a connection under it for your heated seat. That has to be unplugged before you can fully remove the seat.
