I heard HD is only making 31% of the amount of CVO'S they made last year. Any truth to this and why? Are sales down?  :nixweiss:

I just read this entire thread.

I can't believe one of our group hasn't already caught this and chimed in on the fact that the MoCo "reduced" the number of CVO's....by eliminating one of the four models offered the previous years.  There are only three CVO models in 2017.  2007 through 2016, there was always four models.  Just sayin' here but wouldn't cutting back to three CVO models amount to most of a proposed 31% reduction?  It would be a MoCo trademark to say they are reducing the number manufactured but really only cutting from four models to three... :nixweiss:

I had to pay up to get the first 2017 CVO Streetglide at my dealer in Michigan. I tried to negotiate but there were literally 3 guys behind me waiting for my deal to fall thru.

Kinda like the old days of putting your name on the list for a specific model bike and when your name came up on the list you got the next bike (no matter what color it was)... if you didn't take it you went back to the bottom of the list/got bumped off the list. :(

From what I am seeing, HD has cut back on the non-CVO also.  This time of year, SMHD usually gets 15 or more new bikes a week.  They are getting 5 to 6 a week.

They have had one CVO make it to the floor, it lasted two hours.  All the others have been sold before they made it to the dealership.

I had the latest and greatest back in 07, then I did in 09 too.  :drink:

creating a sense of urgency to get me a 17 CVO has me on the edge. If I had a local dealer that was worthy I'd have a few more HD's in my stable, but since there isn't I don't.

Best of luck to all involved.  :znotworthy:

Sincerely

I can certainly see the first wave of CVOs going fast - new paint schemes, new engine, got-to-have-it-now buyers.  However, lets see what the demand is as the months pass...that'll be the true test.  I'm speculating the demand will be about the same as it was for the '16 models, since there are only "x" number of riders willing to pony up $40k for a hobby.

I'm sure it'll be better than the 16's since there are many improvements this year according to most reviews.
