Unfortunately changing the lubricant more often isn't going to "fix" the problems of the Harley primary, nor is trying different brands of lubricant. You could use the most expensive lube known to man and change it every week, and poorly designed and manufactured parts would still wear out prematurely or fail. But for those who like to tilt at windmills, I guess changing primary fluid more often isn't the worst thing one could do with a Harley.
If the late model primary didn't create so much debris I'd say change the lube when the manual tells you to do so. The lube isn't worn out even at 10k miles, but it is filled with trash that isn't filtered out like the motor oil. Change it when you change the motor oil, at 5k miles.
