1" riser adapters for new handlebars
« on: October 15, 2016, 05:04:54 PM »

I just got in some 10" LA Choppers Twin Peaks handlebars. I was told by two companies they would work with stock risers. As it turns out, I need to get 1" riser adapters. Does anyone have a part number from Harley or know of a good set that will fit while still accommodating for that chrome cover that goes back on?

Bike is a 2013 CVO RK.

Thank you!

if you're talking about the adapters to make 1'' handlebars fit the 1-1/4'' risers, look here: http://wild1inc.com/acc_adapt.html

Thank you! I don't see a reason those wouldn't work on the LA choppers. Looks like an easier and cheaper fix than risers.

That is the exact 1 I used when I installed monkey bars on my 13 CVO King.

You might want to consider (if you haven't all ready) replacing the rubber mounting bushing to polyurethane...this will make the new apes feel more solid.

Thank you, I'll look into that as well. Should have that adapter in the next day or two.

Good idea. I ordered mine from Wild 1's as well. Great people to deal with!

Bad news. I hate the handlebars. I have to lean forward like a grandma to ride the bike even with them angling back towards me. When I rode the Street Glide with 10" Twin Peaks, they angled out some to not hit the fairing. This made them real comfy. My bars go straight up and makes for the most uncomfortable motorcycle I've ever ridden, should have paid attention to that detail. Had a scheduled ride today I couldn't cancel and my neck, back, arms, legs, and wrists are killing me. And I'm not being dramatic. Way worse than stock bars. These were just way too low and waaaaay too far to reach.

Back to the drawing board to find something that works. Considering Twin Peaks 14's to see if I can bring them up and closer to me at the same time. Already 550 buck down the drain this weekend from the bars and installation, so just don't wanna make the same mistake twice. Can't find a Road King close by with apes to try. At this point I'm fine with extending cables.

well, the good news is that you just kept me from spending big money.  I was thinking of going with those bars myself (after ensuring they fit a roadglide that is).  was thinking that just a little rise over stock would be great.  wonder if you have to lean forward more than the stock rg bars?

how about some pics?

I guarantee if you only got 10s you'd be leaning much farther forward than your stock RG bars. Luckily the company I bought from will let me exchange for a restocking fee. I am getting the 12 inch standard apes that have a little more pull back.

If you are wanting new bars for your RG, try the road glide tall boy bars (even just mocking them up above your current bara. I love them, very comfy.
