2016 cvo road glide?
« on: January 28, 2017, 07:50:07 PM »

Ok,  time to consider replacing the 2007 cvo....

Dealer has the 16 cvo road glide ultra discounted and ready to go.  For  the few of you all who traded in a 15/16 cvo for the new 17 would you recommend I wait for the 18 cvo road glide ultra or pull the trigger on this 16?   I don't see much heartburn about the 114 like we had with the 2007 first year 110 oil-leaker....

I actually could just live with a 17 107 road glide ultra and just add the intercom/cb for $800 but that makes it almost 28k anyway.  Yes, 35k vs 28k is a significant difference.

Thoughts?

Ok.   Before some yells at me for not reading all the previous threads, which I did...    I'm not planning any mods to a new bike I get other the intercom/cb.    One last question, does anybody have an opinion about the new trade in program offered by the mothership?

Cheers

From everything I've read about the 17, everyone is really happy about them. There was a posting somewhere about maybe a CVO Roadglide in February, might want to ask your dealer if he knows anything . I'm sure others will chime in on this. Guess it comes down to you, how happy are you with the deal ? flhman

I have a SG, so all I can say is, I really like the 114!

I rode the 107 RG with stage 1 and I was impressed with the torque and power it had.  It felt it had same  power as me CVO 110 had with d&d 2-1's and dyno.

I have had two CVO Road Glides, then the 15 CVO Road Glide ultra.

I currently have my first Street Glide, the 2017.  I love the upgrades to the suspension and the 114 motor.

That said, I really wish it was a 2017 CVO Road Glide.  I do like the road glide better than the batwing.

I know I must be a complete idiot but I have a 12 CVO Roadglide and a 17 CVO Streetglide and as far as the difference in the ride goes, I don't feel that much of a difference. To me the only thing I would say as far as the ride goes between them is the RG is more stable at higher speeds with cross winds but not by a huge amount. I honestly now don't know if I was buying a new bike and both a SG and a RG were offered which I would pick, probably the one with the paint I liked more.
Of course I do think there is a night and day difference in the TC 110 vs the M8 114 stock motors and the stock suspension as well as the electronics with the remote locking forks and bags.
In my opinion it would be crazy to buy a new 16 CVO right now even with a big discount same as it would have been years ago when the TC came out over buying a new EVO. When the TC came out back then there were major issues getting them "sorted out" which has not been the case with the M8 motor (knock on wood).
With all that being said, all that really matters is what you feel comfortable with.

If you want a CVO Road Glide Ultra, buy it now.  Dealers could not move them so chances are it will be a long time before H-D does another CVO Road Glide Ultra.

Gave $36,400 for mine. Happy with the deal  Make sure and get it good and hot BEFORE you buy  and LISTEN for neutral rattle, don't buy that chit..they all do that . They won't rattle , cold or half way warm..Good negotiating toll..especially at the end of the month,

Don't know how helpful this is but, I bought my '16 RGU last year and put on the upgrade front and rear shocks that now come standard( huge improvement). Anyway, my plan is to run the 110 until it dies and instead of buying a new bike I will put a 117 upgrade on it. I'm only doing this because I love the paint job on the '16 more than the last 3 bikes in 4 years put together.
