Looks like they are copying some of Harley's earlier attempts at nostalgia.

Leather must of been an option before though. I saw a couple VERY leathery bikes at Bike Week at the Indian Dealership last year.  :nixweiss:

And some pictures from the Indian Motorcycle website.  I'm not a big fan of the tan leather but would like to see it black, if that's an option (from the website, it doesn't look to be at this time).  I know some think the Indian is an ugly bike but I'm not in that group.  I like the look and the removal of the lowers from the Roadmaster really helped the look to me.  The lowers looked too Yamaha-ish (Voyager) to me:

That much leather will be a CONSTANT maintenance item. Had a Road King Classic with leather bags and matching tourpak. It was a regular bi-weekly deal to maintain and keep looking like new. Can not even imagine if you tried to do the same with all this stuff.
But then I recently saw a internet article (and we all know it had to be true because it was on the internet) stating Indian riders are older and do not ride miles like Harley people. So it wouldn't be so hard to take care of if it only sits in garage.

Love the Green one.  Really looks sharp.  Also looks to be real difficult to keep it looking like that if you ride 20K miles a year or so.

I love the look of the leather.  Loved an old Road King Classic I had with all the extra leather I could hang on it for the same reason.  It is some extra maintenance.  With the right protectants though it's not as bad as you might think.

Whoever is in charge of the color coordination must be color blind.

Maybe Indian hired the HD employee that thought pea green, flat beige, light purple, and those bass boat metal flake paint jobs were good colors.

I was at an Indian dealer a couple of weeks ago and saw their line up. Except for the funky Batwing on the RoadMaster, I like the new bikes. The build and fit and finish were quality. I look forward to test riding one soon, just for fun.
