Need a Carb Mik vs Super E
« on: March 14, 2017, 12:01:01 PM »

I need a complete carb including intake and mounts for my mild build. Any thoughts on Mik or Super E.

I need everything, from the heads to the air cleaner.

If your location is correct, I'd run the Mikuni because of the choke. I run an S&S on my Shovel and it uses a fuel dump to get it going which is ok when its nice out, but it really sucks when it's a bit cold.

Both work well. What is he build?
S&S is really simple to tune, mikuni is much more complex
Wide open both will get nearly the same results.
Mikuni has better throttle response and crispness once dailed in

I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
I have a G on my 113", an E on my 93"' a 42 Mik on my 97", all work just great, good mileage, good manners, etc.
I would not hesitate to use either on my bikes, it's just that the S&S came with my one engine.
Did not really have to do much tuning to get it right, both pretty easy.
