CVO Limited antenna
« on: March 19, 2017, 04:19:08 PM »

I noticed a post on google that someone just cut their antenna's down to 18 inches and installed new end caps and installed on bike. They noticed no difference in reception. I just did the same and found no difference in reception and I live in the middle of nowhere. Seams to easy to be true but it works. Any thoughts?

Hey muddypaws, I assume you did this for looks .........and you're referring to the stock 3' wire antennas which are supposedly "length optimized" for the best reception. Of course they're also ungainly which is why many of us opt for "shorty antennas". As you apparently live in a poor reception area, you likely just went from "half-bad" to "full bad" and didn't even notice the difference LOL :D! You might try shorty antennas which claim to outperform the stock versions ......and look cool 8)!

Probably no change to be observed with am / fm but I doubt the CB will work as good. Connect a SWR meter and check.
