Had a similar problem with my 2015 Limited also fitted with a Thundermax. I contacted the help line at Thundermax and sent them a recording of the Thundermax during the startup problem. They then got back to me within a couple of days and got me to upload a new Firmware Software fix which solved the problem been good since. That was a couple of years ago now.

You might verify that your ACR's are working and turned on in the program

I had the same issue with my 14 cvo limited with the thundermax. Constant reprogramming and adjusting. Finally got it so it started ok then could never get rid of the pinging. Finally threw away the t-max and installed a Vance and Hines fp3. Never another problem with starting or pinging.

Sorry, you seem to be going about this engine mod thing backwards. Probably should have picked cams, fuel mgmt., air intake , exhaust and whatever else as a package designed to work together to fit your riding style. Not really sure what else you've done to your bike besides swapping the ecm and cams. In any case, I agree with ditching the thundermax but when you replug your stock ecm back in, you will need to reprogram it using something. I would do it right this time and think about exactly what you want to achieve. You might have the right cam or not etc.

what a bummer.  the farther from stock you get - the more you really need to know to make it right.   its not just money and mail order parts.   there are dozens of companies that will separate folks from there hard earned money with promises of unobtainium,   buyer beware.

The service letter limited its specification to Softail and Dyna.
